What a terrible list.
I think any of us could have come up with a much better list.

How easy of a writing job is this and how poorly did this writer perform it? I'm not cutting this guy a break. Type in "LSU message board" and Tigerdroppings comes up. He can't just ask for a Top 25 here and rework that?
I'm no Dan Wetzel, but it's been a while since I've read something that bad and just overall sloppy. Hope this guy improves

Spencer Tracey?
Is that Shaq's caddie?

quote:That's the way I think it should be done, but we have to recognize that there also exists the pursuit (vain, imo) of ranking athletes in absolute terms (which would leave Jesse Owens out of the top 100 sprinters of all time). If someone endeavors such a ranking, leaving off guys like Casanova becomes only slightly less stupid. In those terms, I could see Casanova dropping to the high teens/low twenties. But it's not like he played in the stone ages. By '71, college football players had gotten pretty athletic (guys like O.J. Simpson, Johnny Rogers, Jack Ham, Greg Pruitt, etc.).
IMO, you have to judge the players based on what they did during their time period
But it is a kind of pointless way of looking at it. How is it more impressive to run a 10.25 100m when everyone else is running a 9.9 or lower than to run a 10.3 when everyone else is running a 10.4 or higher? Being born 60 years later does not make one a better athlete, imo. Excelling against others in similar circumstances to yours is what defines prowess.

Trindon Holliday wasn't even the fastest player in the SEC THAT YEAR.

Jacob Hester is on there.
All that matters.
Least he got one right.

That is one of the worst efforts at a list I can imagine.
That's just one person.
What really puzzles me is that no one has mentioned Roy Winston belongs on ANY such list.

I pity the writer! He must be too young to have seen many seasons of Tiger football or at least to have researched before submitting this story. Send him back to school.

All I can say is WOW!!!!!!
I can't come of with the words for a proper response to this. I think the list pretty much speaks for itself.

This list is full of fail. There are many obvious names that were missed, many in the NFL HoF...
Johnny Robinson (How is Craig Steltz on the list before Robinson?
Steve Van Buren
Tommy Casanova
Ronnie Estay
Mike Anderson
Andy Hamilton
Eric Martin (how is Devery Henderson on the list before Martin?)
Todd Kinchen?
Jim Taylor
Alan Faneca
Ben Wilkerson
Art Cantrelle

A number of guys on that list were never even first team all SEC , much less all American.
Johnny Robinson was all American and 9x all pro/ all star. He 's on some HOF teams.
Roy "Moony" Winston was consensus 1 st team All American, first round draft, 15 yrs in NFL and four Super Bowls. He has made some lists at one of the top 10 NFL linebackers of all time. He was no Trindon Holliday, but he wasn't bad.

Spencer Tracy draws from his wealth of experience in B2B sales, film production, music promotion, banking and the fashion industry. In depth knowledge of these varied fields allows him to see a bigger picture in terms of social identifiers, marketing and lifestyle development.
This is who
Lol!
