Somewhere casual, laid back, not too expensive ($20-25 an entree max). It really doesn't matter the type of food, i'm really open. If you have any other suggestions for places away from the Capitol, those are more than welcome too
thanks
thanks

Tune Inn, a couple of blocks from the Capitol was pretty good.
Oyamel was awesome and is not that expensive.
Even Old Ebbitt Grill was surprisingly affordable.

I second oyamel, awesome Mexican tapas.
Cuba libre was also very good .
Jaleo, another of Jose Andres' restaurants (also has Oyamel) was incredible. It is a Spanish tapas rest that focuses on pork from the famous Black Hoofed Pigs of Iberico.
A couple of images from my meal there (sorry about the size)
The best gin and tonic I ever had:
Pork and foie gras enchiladas, no words can describe how good these were.

I ate at three of his restaurants when I was in town. I enjoyed American Eats the most but it was only temporary.
Oyamel has an impressive menu, and one of only three restaurants in the country that serves Oaxaco Tacos (made with grasshoppers) worth a try for the Andrew Zimmerman types.

A little further away, but Matchbox in Eastern Market (one Metro exit from Capitol South).
