o2 is no longer our telecommunications partner. Wonder if we have a new sponsorship set up to replace it.

Would he likely take Gervinho's starting role?

Also at thebottom of that article it said Bendtner is in talks with Gaalawhatever.

Malaga still firm on not selling him. Nice to know if he leaves, he's ours though. Price seems higher than what i had previously seen, but if we'll pay it, I'm down.

I assumed Podolski would take Gervihno's place. Right now if Cozorla were to join, due to injuries, he would probably start at attacking mid. It seems he can play anywhere in the 3 of the 4-2-3-1 that we run.

Seems like they don't want to, but have to. This would be a great signing for the Gunners.

Well, their owner can pay off their debt at any time. He has plenty of money. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Personally, i think we'll see more of Gervinho on the right this year. I think Theo may get more opportunities up top.

Who's our AM this season?

Also, I really hope Wilshere gets healthy!

Either Rosicky, Wilshere if healthy, Ramsey even though I think he suited for a deeper role, Diaby has played there before and may get a shot but like Ramsey I think he is better suited for a deeper role, Ox may get a chance also as he has been played in the middle during preseason, or a new signing.

Ramsey, Rosicky, Ox, Wilshere, Diaby.

Ramsey is definitely better as an AM than playing deeper. Diaby is more of a true box to box player.

Ramsey played deeper while Wilshere played att mid while in the reserves and I saw the same thing in a Arsenal TV(MSG network) Arsenal Classics Carling Cup game against West Brom in 09 and when Ramsey was getting time before he was injured against Stoke he was playing deeper as Cesc was pushed further up the field. I just don't see him as an att mid. At least not good enough to play that position for Arsenal.

Why aren't we mentioning Arteta in the AM role? Am I missing something here?

I wondered that myself but it seems Wenger prefers him sitting deep and the fact that we don't have enough cover for the 2 sitting mids that we like to play with so we aren't able to push him forward. I think he would do a good enough job if he were played at AM. Its just a case of he is needed at his current position, which he was amazing for us at last year.

Arteta has to sit deeper than Song in our formation because it appears that Wenger likes Song to win the ball high up the field, or at least pressure the ball carrier up the field. When Song does win the ball up the field, (a la the Norwich game away this season) we have fast break opportunities we otherwise wouldn't have. Having Arteta sit deeper also allows him to read the game and make key interceptions and tackles (a la the Man City game home this season). I wouldn't prefer him playing that high up the field to be honest, as Arteta has become immense to our ability to build attacks and dictate our play.

This. And it sure as hell showed in the games he missed.

That's why I don't see Arteta playing anything higher than middle of the park.

Wilshere I thought was a box to box, not a true out and out AM?

Rosicky made strides but he still isn't the best at actually shooting on target or that final accurate assist in the final 3rd. Plus his health is always a concern. I'm not a big enough fan of Ramsey to keep giving him chances at AM, but at least that's better than having him play wide in respect to who we would have to sit.

I wouldn't mind Ox playing AM, I feel he needs to get a good amount of minutes, plus he loves to press forward and attack. Dribble players, take shots from distance, he's just threatening.

A nice little graphic comparing Cazorla's numbers with Malaga last season to Mata in his time at Valencia and Chelsea, and to Theo and Arteta.

Wish those numbers were in a per 90 minutes format.

But it seems like he's pretty damn good (and healthy, all 38 games) but loses the ball more than he should.

What that tells me is he's really attack minded, loves to dribble and shoot. Otherwise his #'s seem pretty comparable to what we currently have?
