Meh. I'm not convinced he could play well with Rooney and he will have to play with multiple strikers at MC.

Keep seeing that Wenger wants to put a 30 mill dollar tag on RVP to scare off bidders. It sure seems Wenger is determined to hold on to RVP for one more year. He wanted to keep Nasri last year but was forced to sell. I think Arsene has had enough of the whats best for the club financially bs. He isn't getting any younger and I would assume he wants to give it one more good go(next couple of seasons) with this squad he is trying to build with RVP.

Sure he can. He came up as a winger, moved to a support striker role, and then a couple of years ago was moved into the main striker role. He played off of Henry and Adebayor in years past. It was when Adebayor left the club that RVP moved into the main or central striker role. He definitely has the skill set to play a more withdrawn role as he has excellent vision and passing.

I'm certainly not saying RVP can't play with other strikers. Him and Rooney are so similar that I'm just not convinced they would complement each other well. At City I was referring to the sheer amount of forwards they have. Aguero, Balotelli, Dzeko, Tevez and RVP.

I imagine he and Rooney would be fine together. They can both pretty much do it all. They can take turns coming deep for the ball and staying more advanced.

They may very well be dynamic together. We'll see.

Yea what do they want RVP for anyway? If they sign RVP it will take them a while to find the right combination up front. Mancini finally found a good rotation at the end of last season with Agureo, Mario, and Tevez.

How the once mighty have fallen. AC Milan going in for the one and only Nicklas "The Best Striker In The World" Bendtner! Here is the link with some other Arsenal news. LINK

That would be a solid move for them actually. He's big, tall, can hold the ball, and his lack of pace won't affect him too much in that league. It helps that he can also link play, and is decent with the ball at his feet. Also if they pay us that much money, I'd be really happy.

Yea he has some talent but it is attitude that gets in his way. Hopefully we continue to rid the squad of the deadwood. There seems to be interest in most of them. Hopefully it gets done quick so we can add to the squad cuz if we are waiting on the RVP money to do business we may be waiting a while. Last summer we knew Cesc wanted to go home to Barca and Nasri wanted to move on to City and it took forever to get those deals done. I can only imagine what we are in store for with this RVP saga.

Walcott has one year left on his contract and initial talks reached deadlock. But negotiations have resumed since his return to training and the club are optimistic agreement can be reached to add three more years to his Arsenal career.

Sounds like the M'Vila deal is dead. At least for now. Arsene very high on Diaby in that piece. If you don't count Ribery or Nasri as a MF, then I don't necessarily disagree with him. But still, coming off an injury...

Also reports of a Wilshere set-back pushing him back to October...hope it isn't true...

Yea Arsene is high if he thinks Diaby will contribute. He cant play 3 games in a row without missing another 4 months. I think Diaby is a good player but overrated due to him never playing and people building him up during that time. I like Diaby but I dont know if he will ever be able to play professionally consistantly again. I cant ever remember an athlete in any sport so injury prone. If he wont sign another box to box or defensive mid then he sure as hell better go get an att mid.
