IMHO, this is the meanest looking group since...the actual meanest group in 1986 (sorry Bradie). Michael Brooks, Toby Caston, Ron Sancho, and Eric Hill. Those guys went looking for blood

Gotta agree and from a couple of his highlight films, he looks to be the real deal too.

I saw Debo play three games his senior year. He was the best HS LB I've seen in person. Fast, quick, great nose for the action, and delivers a good lick. They used him as a receiver when the absolutely needed a play, so he's got ball skills too. I really can't say enough about how much field this guy covers.

2011:

Trevon Randle-3 star

2010:

Luke Muncie- 3 star
DJ Welter- 3 star

2009:

Lamin Barrow- 3 star
Tahj Jone- 3 star
Kevin Minter- 4 star and starting MLB
Markevious Mingo- 4 star and starting DE

2008:

Ryan Baker- 4 star and starting WLB
Kyle Prater- 3 star

2007:

0 LB's

2006:

Jacob Cutrera- 3 star
Derrick Odom- 4 star kicked off the team
Perry Riley- 3 star drafted in the fourth round
Kelvin Sheppard- 3 star drafted in the third round

2005:

Darry Beckwith- 4 star starting MLB

John Chavis was brought in in 2009. In that time, it's amazing he was even able to field a full set of three LB's based on the recruiting. He has turned 3 star LB's into starting players on one of the best defenses in the nation, and he has put them in the league. Every 4 star LB since 2005 has become a quality starter with the exception of Odom who was kicked off the team.

No, we have not had this kind of talent come in at the LB position, and you would have to be crazy not to be excited to see what these coaches can do with it.

I never said they all come in the same class. This class has the numbers, which in itself will bring the odds up.

But we recruit highly rated LB's every, just as highly recruited as these guys. And people fawn over how mean they look and how good their HS highlight tapes are every year.

Be excited, but some people just need to temper their expectations. You never know how a player will play once he hits college.

True... gotta like your chances with the numbers in this class. Good mix of guys that are ready to play the LB position, and a few pure raw talents. Hope LSU can land Melvin Jones (and Beckwith... although there's a debate about his future position).

No we don't. If you follow recruiting, you would know that we have struggled at recruiting linebackers. Sure we have signed some guys but they were projects. These guys coming in are a different breed.

yes we do. i just spelled it out a few pages up. It's not debatable. Those are in fact their true rankings coming out of HS. Equal or better to the guys we have coming in this year.

neither good enough to be drafted into the NFL says enough. They were solid college players.

Not a big fan of the rankings, but based on these one could say LSU should not recruit/sign any LB'ers with a rating of 5.7 or lower.

Kwon was a 5 star on every site before his injury. Miles said in an interview that he looks fully recovered.

Feist, Phillips, and Louis were all 4 stars on at least 2 sites. people have every reason to have high expectations

they all look good against high school competition. The SEC is a whole nother animal. Just have to wait and see. At least the numbers are there and the potential is there.
