Last year I tried white scrub pants to keep the sun off my legs sitting in the boat so long. Worked great and never felt hotter than normal.

If I end up buying two yaks in the 12 foot range, would I need a trailer to transport them? I have a Ford F250 but not sure I can strap 2 down to transport?

Heck no. Yaks can stack. Just don't put too many sticking up accessories, and you can just build a mountain of yak back there. I routinely pack around 3 in my 1/2 ton.

Didn't buy my kayak until last summer, so this will be my first Paddlepalooza. Saw they had almost 200 people signed up already and you know there's probably a bunch who will sign up at the last minute. Should be fun. Biggest tourney I've done so far was Fall n Tide last year and that was only 130 or so people.

I'm hoping catch a slam and win that Outback for 1st place, but setting my goals more realistic: catch a buzz and win a container of Gulp at the raffle

They have a new rudder system I installed on mine that’s $20. Works so much better

The FD’s have adjustable props and so you can run in shallow water smoother and faster than a mirage drive and then when you get in deeper water the drive kicks back out to max thrust. But the mirage drive runs better in shallow water with grass

catching a slam in a kayak is so damn hard

Im excited they pushed it back a little this year though

I'm surprised by this.

Just based on the amount of negatives I've read about that drive, I am staying away for now. Just not enough negatives to the Natives to move away yet.

Me 2. I'll let the guys who have actually been in a Jackson respond to this.

I'd like to get in one again to see if my initial thoughts have evolved any.

I definitely like the idea of the FD. I don't think I'd like the steering and the small tankwell though.

I know a guy with both Jackson and Native at his disposal. I'll ask him. May try to get to his place to pedal the FD.

Just got a friend's opinion and read even more on the net that the Cruise is not stable. If I sold my Slayer today, I really don't know what I'd get.

I'm sure they're working on it. I do like their yaks.
