After reviewing all the top prospects, I only want Rivers or Drummond, the rest scream role player or bust to me.
Rivers will be an all star or have Jason Terry career where he is necessary to win a championship. Drummond is just a beast and if he gets it together he will definitely be an All Star.
These are the only two players that I see being able to form the Big Three sooner than later and allows us to keep them for many years.
I know people will disagree but I don't care bc you can't sell me on the Ross, Jones's, Sullinger's, Lamb's, etc. They don't do it for me when watching old film or passing the eyeball test.
And for the life of me I don't understand the newfound love for Waiters and Leonard because those two will definitely not pan out or be journeymen at best in 3-4 years. But if Waiters goes ahead of Rivers that's ok cuz that means he likely falls to us! The rest of the Top 10 or so prospects just don't seem to be all star caliber including Robinson but that's just me. And MJG or MKG or MGM will just be another solid if not overrated defender who can't score consistently bc he has so mid range jumper.
So give me Rivers or Drummond and if they are gone, I'm fine with trading the pick for a veteran who accelerate the rebuilding process...its that simple!

No mention of Davis?

Of course Davis, but we know we got him, I'm talking at the 10 spot.

You HAVE to take Drummond if he is there IMO. With our staff I think we can get the best out of him. Could have a DOMINaNT front court in a few years.

I like the way you think! I couldn't agree more

It's really a no brainer. I know were suppose to evaluate the rest but I personally feel I'm a solid evaluator of talent an NO I will not explain why, but Rivers definitely passes the eyeball test, he's got the look, pedigree, etc., he WILL pan out.
Drummond is just too physically talented and if he works hard he can be better than Amare Stoudemire. Yall see the talent he has and he possesses good tools to work with. Hell with him and AD practicing against each other he will undoubtedly get better. Both of them will for that matter, but I think Rivers is the guy we ultimately get. I just hope Toronto doesn't take him. I wouldn't mind moving up to ensure we at least get Rivers.

You're so convincing. How could anyone doubt you?

I feel the same, except include Lillard in there for me.
1. Drummond
2. Lillard
3. Rivers
1. Drummond
2. Lillard
3. Rivers

Liliard is getting a lot of steam lately too but I just feel Rivers is special and will be the best player as the son of a former NBA player. He's got the it factor. Liliard while he might be solid, I don't know if he gets to All Star status. However, if Rivers and Drummond are gone then yes I would take Liliard, but I likely would field offers for a trade at that point to see if we could get a veteran player like Igoudala or Gay or somebody of that caliber.

Man I don't give a shite what you want. For you to make these declarations leaves me quite flabbergasted.
Oh and, too long, didn't read.

after the 1st pick, i dont think drummond will get past 8 more times. now that team at the 10th spot has a small reason to do so. AD bday! that was in a dick vital voice! it would be nice to have him beside AD but not as the main guy unless he just straight up outplays the starter. i would like kaman with AD. but before the drummond to the hornets talks, i like rivers better. he is offense.
this is an interesting decision if they both are there but i also think montey would go with austin.

Have you seen him play?

Drummond
You know he shoots 29...yes, 29% from the line. He is a dunker and a shot blocker. That is it. Highly overrated. No offensive game. No post moves. Extremely questionable motor, desire and work ethic. I predict he will be the biggest bust in the draft.

His ceiling is Deandre Jordan....
Posted on 6/12/12 at 4:16 am to Jester
DeAndre Jordan is an insult to a big man and i must agree. I had high hopes for the guy but we now see why he wasnt playing more. Im glad LA is stuck with his contract. I wonder if the clips' ex gm did the with the intentions of leaving. Funny!!
I havent seen drummond play and neither have most of us. I was falling for the general public hype but im not a fan of drummond. I think zeller is the choice if we take a big guy. He's taller and showed some worth. If by some grace we can get rivers and zeller to back up Kaman...., man oh man!!

Kaman will most likely not be a Hornet

I dont think we will get rid of two centers who can start on many teams. Oak defends and rebounds but we have AD. Kaman is offense and has range. Kaman can even play the four. Montey likes versility. We keep one unless we get an upgrade like dwight or bynum. Those are the only guys worth switching for.

Why do people want Zeller? Again, he might be a decent player but probably not. If we pick him we might as well have kept Cole Aldrich! I don't like none of the centers except Drummond.
And yes Drummond needs development but he has the tools to get better and that's what u look for. Drummond should have stayed another year but if I have to take a big man, Drummond or Moultrie are the only two I even consider.
The rest of the big men in this class are pedestrian and will not even be in the league in 5 years, excluding Sullinger but I just don't want anymore below the rim players.

Drummond has way better physical tools and skill at this stage then Jordan had and its not debatable. Drummond even has adequate ball handling skills and the mechanics to improve his jumper. Drummond is a Stoudemire type and he has the potential to be an All Star.
We could all see Jordan at Texas A&M and know that he would develop some but he was likely not to become an All Star unless his rebounding and defensive presence became overwhelming, which obviously it has not. Jordan"s offensive offensive skill set in college didn't translate well to the pros other than hook shots and lob alley oops.
