Do you really think Jerry Rice and Reggie White are the two best NFL players ever? Or did you just pick too hall of fame legends that happened to play for more than one team in order to support your argument?

You could easily make the argument for these guys as well, who only played for one team.

Offense
Jim Brown: Browns
Walter Payton: Bears
Tom Brady: Patriots

Defense
Ray Lewis: Ravens
Lawrence Taylor: Giants
Dick Butkus: Bears
Mean Joe Greene: Steelers

Brady isn't the best QB of his generation, let alone the best all time QB.

Whether y'all "acknowledge it or not, Jordan Played for the Wizards, which means he played for two different teams

I agree he's not the best of all-time, but my point is that there isn't a single NFL player that you can designate as greatest ever. One can make an argument for 10-20 players. Tom Brady is one of those in my opinion. I'd put Montana and Peyton Manning ahead personally though.

Rice is considered the best WR to play the game, one could argue the best ever by the way he destroyed all receiving stats. You could make an argument for others as well since football has no real consensus #1 all-time player.

That's my point. Obviously Rice is the greatest WR, but it's hard to say who the greatest of all time is. One could argue about 20 players and about half of them played for multiple teams while the other half played for just one.

How many of the top athletes in each sport went chasing rings in the prime of their careers when they were on top of their respective sport?

Ruth was traded
Gretzky was traded
Jordan won 6 rings with original team before retiring/unretiring twice.
Rice played and won several titles with original team before the 49'ers parted ways and he still wanted to play.

So this thread is really just pointless imo.

How many of the GOATs 2nd best player were merely good enough to be a backup on a decent team?
