Best RTS game of all time or greatest RTS game of all time? Burnt an incredible amount of hours playing this game, especially the scenarios online, with Germ Blood and Castle Blood, and all that fun stuff. So who else played this game in their youth?

Me and four other friends would all bring our computers to one persons house and have huge arse battles. One half vs the other half and it would take hours, but it was awesome. Loved that game, played for a good solid few years consistently

This was the game that got me hooked on RTS PVP online. Played this for years then also played Age of Mythology for a while.
The secret to both was never quit making villagers and raid the opponents villagers as often as possible :) If you're economy was better, you won.

If South Korea wasn't so invested in starcraft, I would have to say that Age of Empires II would be the greatest RTS of all time.

Spent so many hours online playing this game. Greatest game ever was when we had a no rush until everyone was in Imperial Age. I got there fairly quickly and had Persians, so I made an army of 200 elephants for the hell of it :woolooloo:

Army of elephants like that was pretty much unstoppable. We'd do situations like that and even with two people vs someone with the Persians it's near impossible to win unless you're extremely strategic about it

I loved this game especially the online play with player generated maps. There were some very cool scenarios players created. Same reason I loved Starcraft online.
I actually found a torrent of the game that runs on my Mac. I still play a game here or there but no longer online.

Not at all. Real-Time-Strategy (RTS) meaning things go much faster because everything is going on at the same time.

I used to play the crap out of this. Played with Huns because they didn't require houses and speed rushed other peoples lumber camps FTW.

Used to play the shite out of it my freshman year at LSU, before you knew it, it was 3 in the morning.
