He says because everyone has cooperated, the suspensions won't be that bad. However, he thinks our draft picks are going to take a major hit. Even went as far to say as we could lose 2 and 3 this year, 1 next year, and maybe 1 in 2014.
Taking our first picks for the next three years seems pretty ridiculous to me, but John Clayton seems like he has been on the side of freaking out about this issue.

the main penalties will come down on Williams, Loomis, Payton, and Vilma specifically. Loomis will get a big fine. Payton a fine and maybe 2-4 game suspension, same for Vilma. GW will face a year ban. As for draft picks...most certainly our one next year (2013) and likely some at the tail end of the 2014 draft. IMO that is VERY severe for an NFL football team. But hardly from something that will dismember the franchise.

I really really hope that Payton's suspension isn't longer than 4 games. That's my biggest concern about all of this. With the exception of the draft picks of course

I hope Benson fires Loomis and Payton and that those two, if they knew about the pay for injuries scheme, and Williams and Vilma, who has been doing this since college, are never allowed to be associated with the NFL again.

My allegiance is to justice and sportsmanship more than a particular sporting team. While I do like the Saints, for me to continue liking them, and for the organization to be blotted from its iniquity under the current regime, the house must be cleaned.

Honestly, NONE of these guys have a clue about what the penalties will be. They're ALL pulling this from their anus
Schefter's been all over ESPN saying Goodell could use some 1950s gambling suspensions as a template for what he will do to New Orleans...WTF?!?!?! WHY? How would 60 yr old suspensions for totally different offenses have any impact on what he does here?
