That's why I'm hoping for Reed in WoW. Davos is looking for Rickon and Osha. This could lead him to Reed.

I can't wait for him to emerge from Greywater Watch riding on the back of a lizard lion. He is my most anticipated character introduction.

Book spoilers Chili...
Anything beyond the first book should get a warning.
SPOILERS
Didn't Manderly send Davos to Skagos? Geographically makes more sense to run to rather than the Neck. Seems to me that a Neck run from Winterfell with the ironborn down there and Boltons looking is suicide.

Spoilers!!!!
Ned killed arthur dayne with his own hand. You don't just kill a knight if the kingsguard without being a badass

Spoilers as well....
Ned also said he would have died in that battle if it wasn't for Howland Reed, he didn't take on Dayne one on one. It was 7 on 3 if I recall right, but it's been a while since I read GOT.
As far as Davos finding Rickon, Manderly sent him to Skagos, which is about as far north as you can go without being north of the wall. On top of that Osha was heading towards Manderly's White Harbor when they split at the end of COK. So the chances of that crew meeting Reed is slim at best. I think our best bet at getting Howland's story will be in the last book when people meet up for major battles, unless he just randomly WTF appears somewhere outside the swamps.

Spoilers
I believe you're right about 7 on 3. I forgot about that but it proves just how badass those 3 were. Ned is also known to be quite humble and was said to have saved roberts arse on a few occasions. Most notably the battle of the bells

I've always thought The Sword of The Morning (Arthur Dayne) was one of the most badass names GRRM came up with. Also, Arys Oakheart and Tormund Giantsbane are pretty cool, too.

Mance rayder is also pretty badass name

Okay, by keeping up with this thread, I now have just enough spoilers to ensure I start reading A Clash of Kings tonight.
Well played lads.

As the spoilers are starting to come fast and furious I put a warning for those who haven't read past the first book on my page 3 post.

I've decided that trailer is better than many movie trailers I've seen, and this is just an HBO show. April 1st needs to get here fast!!!
BTW, I have to give props to the actor who plays Joffrey. He really encompasses being sadistic and evil. I want to start reading the book series soon.

Are the books hard to follow/in Old English-esque kind of speak? Or is it somewhat easy to read?

Just finished reading "Game of Thrones" and I got a theory that I have a feeling is a commonly accepted one:
John Snow is not the bastard son of Ned Stark; he's the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. It's the promise that Ned made to Lyanna as she died that Ned would raise Jon as his own son and keep it a secret from Robert and everyone else, who would most likely kill the young Jon as he did to Jon's half siblings (or at least highly consider doing so). It also explains the title of the series, Fire (Targaryen) and Ice (The Starks of Winterfell as well as John's last name), to where John will eventually become the main protagonist of the series. Was this commonly believed after this novel?

They're written in modern English. They aren't difficult from a vocabulary standpoint they're just really long. I've never noticed how long they are because I'm so caught up in the story.
OMlandshark- That's a commonly held belief. The SOIAF message boards have a thread dedicated just to that topic. It's longer than ATPB

Yeah, Ned's flashback in the Tower pretty much made this the most popular theory on Jon's parentage.

was thinking about getting season 1. Is it a good show? Just saw it in the store and thought it look like it might be good.
