One the major issues at the combine was his release/mechanics

that and everyone knows about his lack of anything of substance between his ears. you can fix a release but you can't fix a guy who's the football equivalent of Corky from Life Goes On

Black people are more racist than white people now. His color didn't matter near as much as his play. 0 first downs in a half in the sec championship, not scaring the redzone for an entire game in the bcsnc, and less than 100 yds passing in the two games combined. That may be the reason people question miles and despise jefferson.

Right. There's no racism in Austin. Just as long as blacks stay on their side of I-35.

I know you've reached the pinnacle of enlightedness having left to live in the utopian center of open-mindedness. But you come across as an arse by insulting all us simpletons that stayed home.

I really don't get some of the posters' animus toward JJ.
Sure, he was awful lots of times. Servicable at best. One of the worst LSU starters ever.
However, he seemed to be doing the best he could.
If you want to be angry at somebody, direct it toward those who prepared him and played him and wouldn't pull him when he was hurting the team.
The other stuff about pouting and "throwing people under the bus" seems to be a bit of a reach. Let's just say he's not very likeable or sympathetic, either.
Maybe he's not humble and is immature, but why call JJ out on that when lots of players fall into that group.
Bottom line: I have no idea why he got all the PT he did. He often stunk. But he seemed to give it his best effort.

He was talented enough to get recruited/start for an elite SEC team/ get a combine invite, but he's lacking "substance"....go figure.

I was born, raised, and still live in Baton Rouge. A significant portion of the hate he receives is because he is black. That is my opinion and I feel pretty strongly about it. I'm also as white as the driven snow.

Exactly.

I mean, think about it. People in BR hate all the black athletes that come out of LSU, and have for years.

Think about it, Jester. Name one, just one black athlete from LSU that was popular? I can't think of one.

Jefferson scored a 44 out of 100 on NFL.com's scale. Out of the 315 players at the Combine, Jefferson's rating was the worst.

LSU QBs - keepin' tradition alive. JR, RP, JJ...where's Matt? Why not invite him?

I blame the coaches that were in charge of making these guys better qbs. Les Miles, crowton, and our awesome passing game coordinator. Both thesr guys made the same mistakes in their first games as starters as they did in their last games.

Flynn did participate in the combine

Russell had an incredible combine and did pretty well on the Wonderlic.

What alternate universe do you live in?

I don't know why. Anyone who even took a gander at JJs stats would realize he wasn't combine worthy. Lee was in the same category so neither deserved an invite imo.

Apparently none of the people involved in the selection of who gets invited has ever read the rant.

NFL doesn't really care about stats.

If they did, Texas Tech would have like six #1 draft picks.

Jefferson got invited because of his physical skill set.

IMHO

1. Lee was invited to some all star game.

NFL scouts were there.

they saw enough. he had his shot.

2. JJ looks like an athlete. NFL scouts had read enough TD to think maybe it was just OC Crowton and the meerkat thing was holding him back. now they know what 50% of TD readers know. JJ's really not very good.

It did not take long for the race card to be played. JJ did worst than the worst kicker at the combine. That says enough right there you would think.
