Argue like a bunch of dumb arse chimps over what fried chicken you think is the best in this thread

Personally my favorites are

Mr. Ed's
Popeye's
Krispy Krunch gas station chicken

Popeyes is the king of fast food chicken. I think Gus' in Memphis is the best that I've had, but McHardy's yesterday was great. Perhaps it was because of my good mood and the beautiful weather on the parade route.

ETA: In Baton Rouge, Delpit's gets my vote. I haven't had Stockyard Cafe but I've heard good things.

KFC original recipe.

Eta: there are very few KFC's that I'll even eat at, but the clean, well managed ones are legit.

Best in the country -- GUS's in Memphis, BY FAR

Best in NOLA -- McHardy's

Best in BR -- Delpit's Chicken Shack/Stockyard Cafe

Popeye's. Strangely enough, the best fried chicken I've had (non-fast food) was from a LongHorn's Steakhouse.

Popeyes, hand's down.

I always go through the drive through so as long as I get what I paid for, the service doesn't mean anything.

The stuff is awesome.

A close second is Publix. Their spicy wings are the bomb.

Of course, we could get into the various styled of fried chicken. Heavy, crusty batter deep fried vs. lighter batter pan fried, etc. It would be hard to choose a single place for that reason alone.

That said, Dooky Chase, Chez Helene and Dubars are some of hte best I've had in N.O. As long as I've been here I've never tried Willi Mae's or McHardy's. Strange I know. But I have them both in my sights for the near future.

Popeyes is great . . . BUT I'll only eat at the one at the corner of Magazine and Marengo.
