With Peyton Manning likely to come back next year, that's just more competition.

I've never understood the fear people have of Manning. He has a playoff record around .500 and Brady usually eats his lunch. Manning is by far the most overrated quarterback in recent history. not because he isn't a great quarterback, because he is. It's just that the media has put him on this pedestal as though he's some sort of football god ever since he came into the League.

I truly believe next season will be the beginning of a span where the Saints will win 2 out of the next 3 Super Bowls. New Orleans will witness the biggest party it's ever seen when the Saints win the Super Bowl in their own backyard, and Brees will be a first ballot Hall of Famer once he retires.

As great as Brees and Payton have been, a 2nd Super Bowl Championship would be EPIC.

If we re-sign Brees, we have a shot the next 2 or 3 seasons.

When we re-sign Brees, we have a shot the next 5 or 6 seasons.

You mean Mannings team has a playoff record around .500? Brady usually played on better teams. When Brady missed the entire 2008 season NE went 11-5 down from 16-0. Last year with Manning Indy was 10-6, this year without 2-14.

I hope you are right and its possible, but Brees is now 33, they have holes on D and other guys they need to sign, plus other teams are getting better.

Truth be told, I would be devastated if we don't get another with Brees. I fully expect to get 1, maybe even 2 more in the next 3-5 years. We're just too good not to and with an improved defense we'll be back to where we were after winning it all in 09...a team with "dynasty" and "team of the decade" written all over it

You took it out of context and left out the rest of the sentence.

I said he's overrated, not because he isn't a good quarterback, but because he's been placed on this god-like pedestal since he came into the League. And he isn't one of the best quarterbacks ever. I think to be considered once of the best ever you have to be cool under pressure like Montana, Brees, Brady, Elway. Manning shits a brick and hits the deck when pressure gets to him. Not to mention, very quick to throw someone under the bus (remember when he blamed his offensive line for a loss).

The Colts when 2-14 because of piss-poor coaching. No way should they not be able to compete because one player went down.

My grandfather was a huge Saints fan. He died of dementia halfway through the 2009 season, and had no idea what was going on at any time during the season. Life is so. fricking. cruel.

you can die of dementia? I thought it was just like a medically intense version of being senile.

Is it a brain degenerative disease?

just curious, sorry to hear it though, that's sad.

Manning is great and all and actually think he has been the best qb of this generation. The dude has been the comts oc for a decade. But it is a team sport and im not as worried ab the colts moving forward, they got a lot going on, not to mention peyton may not play. Plenty of tough teams in our division and conference.
