Only issue I have is that he took Miller's spot. If kid was having second thoughts he should have made LSU aware.

Yep, that is a nice stab in the back in the end. But hopefully the staff can lock down a good qb and some solid players that want to be here.

Really? You equate a adult who gets paid millions of dollars to coach, and who is on the state payroll, to an 18yo kid from Indiana who decided he didn't want to play football 900 miles away? Sorry, that's fricking stupid.

No one on this site knows what's it like to be in his position. No one knows what he's discussing with his family, coaches, advisers. No one can say how they would react in the same situation.

So no, his character is not at issue here. It's unfortunate that his decision has cost LSU an OL commit, but that's life.

I understand his dilemma, but how do you allow yourself to take another recruits scholarship, force him to go to another school, and then say nevermind I don't want it after all. Just a little shitty in my opinion.
Seems like that is more of Les' issue than Kiel's. Les is responsible for managing numbers and he can't change his mind on a kid (Miller) and then get mad when another kid (Kiel) does the same thing to him.

Also I think Brian Kelly is a shitty coach, a complete a-hole, and will be out of the job in 2-3 more years.
He bailed out of Cincy in a much worse way than Kiel is bailing out of LSU. Broke the news to his team before their biggest game in history, and left them for ND before they played in it. Karma is a bitch. ND doesn't tolerate a failure very long.

Les didn't change his mind on Miller. LSU just didn't have room for him as an early enrollee when Kiel committed. He still had a scholarship to come in August if he chose to do so.

Is it too late to add Notre Dame to the schedule in 2012? We only need to buy out Towson.......

Exactly. He was scheduled to be an early enrollee, but Les took Gunner and bumped Miller. That was Les' choice, Not Kiel's. Les can't get upset now after the way he handled the Miller incident IMO. Not that I mind, because it benefited AU. I just don't think Kiel should be blamed fro LSU losing Miller. Managing the numbers is the coaches job, he has to bear the responsibility and risk when he makes choices like he did.

He was offered and committed as an early enrollee so YES Les did change his mind and tried to shuffle Miller. (Miller understandably got pissed, said f.u., and went elsewhere).

FWIW

Still want to see something official from Kiel, ND or LSU. Don't really care anymore save for the fact this entire episode has been quite bizarre.

Maybe we can swing a twofer with Jameis Winston and Mario Edwards?!

I don't think a "commitment" changes depending on your age... If he had not really made up his mind then why tell a coaching staff you have?

BK just got a two year contract extension last week, which puts him at Notre Dame for a minimum of 4 more years
