Lee was set to graduate in December
Was listed in the commencement program
Fell one class short
Did not graduate
Took class in inter session
Finished it
No inter session graduation will graduate in spring
Lee still counts against 85 schollies
Kiel is an early entry
Downs gets a sixth year
Lee takes a spot even though he is not enrolled
Not enough spots for miller
Miles asks miller's dad to pay for spring
They get pissed and miller enrolls at auburn

Patrick Miller is an Early Enrollee and you can only have so many of them depending on the number of graduates from the previous year. There are several EE's this year, but there's not enough room for Patrick Miller to do it too. He chose to attend Auburn as an EE b/c they had room. He didn't want to pay his way at LSU this semester.

quote:Yes x 3. Keil didn't show interest in LSU until late in the fall so he wasn't expected to come here. Miller could have paid his way this semester with the full ride starting this summer but his dad turned it down.
ut Kiel could?
Was it a choice between the two?
If Miller really wanted to enroll at LSU couldn't he have done it on his own, then become a traditional recruit on signing day and be on scholly for summer session?

Then wouldn't the fault lie with Kiel rather than Lee, since Kiel took the EE spot?

Lee was red-shirted in '07
Miles had to have a scholly for him for the full year
Lee had a want to graduate early.
It didnt work out. But why should he work his arse off only to benefit Miles?
Kiel decided on LSU, very late
Kiel bumped Miller
It ain't rocket science

Per "Brian Lazard", sports writer, Lee graduated via intersession. From his LSU source, as long as Lee graduated before Spring semester, they can offer another player to start in January.

Just because Kiel enrolled early doesn't mean Lee graduated or Miller got bumped. While we equate enrollment with football scholarships, it is possible for a student-athlete to pay their own tuition...just like us normal folks. IMHO, making assumptions just because one person is in class in January or someone's name was not on a commencement program is pretty presumptuous.

Miller was signed, sealed and delivered by Billy Gonzales. I even said on here when the talk first started up about BG leaving, that there was a good chance we would lose him if Gonzales left LSU and so it comes to pass.

I don't care what the circumstances are. If Miller is so self centered that an early enrollment is the factor that determines his decision then LSU is better off without him.
I am sick and damn tired of 18 year-old me, me, me prima donnas who think the world owes them something just because they were born with athletic ability.
I do truly hope that Miller enjoys Auburn. And he had better prepare himself for yearly arse whippings from the likes of LSU and Alabama.

A quick summary- miller wanted to early enroll. Didn't have room for him to EE so he enrolled at auburn. Several rumors about why their wasn't room. Keil took his EE spot; a medical redshirt given to senior; lee graduated after winter intercession instead of fall; miles miscounted-----I don't know if any of these are true or not. Rank hearsay. Bottom line- lost a recruit to auburn cuz LSU not able to accommodate his want to enroll early.
This I can believe. :)

Some of you are forgetting he could just enroll for summer like a lot of other people do. Plus auburn and lsu were close anyway, there isnt any bad blood. Sucks to not get him, but its the recruiting game.

He would have to pay his own way his first semester, and out of state tuition is very expensive, even if it would only be for the spring. We don't know his family's financial situation so it's hard to fault their decision. He busted his butt in the classroom to finish early, and all of the sudden he doesn't have a spot. I can't blame him. Firing shots at a family and student that you know nothing about is quite immature. Actually firing shots at a student, regardless, is quite immature.
To graduate a semester early, he had to have planned for the future. Maybe he feels that getting that hard start on the rest of his incoming class may be what he needs to get early PT and early favor with his coaches to better prepare him for the pros.

First, you're full of shite. Louisiana and Mississippi colleges are VERY affordable even for out of state students. Most times out of state tuition at LSU is very little more than in state tuition elsewhere.
Second, what is the big damn deal about enrolling early? There very well could be a reason why kids want to do it, but I don't know what it is.
Third, I did not take a shot at Miller's family. I took a shot at him and do not regret doing so. If his loyalty and commitment extends no further than where he can be accommodated under his own terms then I truly do believe that we are better off without him.
It's your prerogative to disagree with me. I don't care. You will not change my mind.

Lee Graduation; Loss of Recruit
Miller became the fourth member of Auburn's 2012 signing class to start classes this week.
Miller is a 6-foot-7, 260-pounder from Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. He committed to LSU last September and announced plans to arrive in time for the spring semester. But he was told this week he'd have to pay his own way this spring because the Bengal Tigers were at their 85 scholarship limit.
