I had a BYU presale code as well as my Advocare. From what I could tell, it looked like they only had one section per ticket price. Sections 115 & 111 then it jumped up to 300s (I think
). I never heard how many tickets they sold in NOLA.
FYI: BYU's AD answered my email within an hour. He was very nice. I expressed my opinion that NOLA was the best option since 5-8" of rain was nothing for them in 5 days. I signed off "Geaux Cougs--at least enough to make it interesting". He again responded saying the Bayou Bengals had a great sense of humor. It probably did nothing, but he was definitely a gentleman about the whole thing (kinda politician like, but whatever).
Hey...you handle it your way. I'll handle it my way. Just thought I'd toss out an option I hadn't seen instead of rehashing the SOS that's been beat to a bloody pulp all weekend. :yack:

Maybe that's the problem...all talk & no action.
My patience is GONE. There's roughly 30k fans holding tickets to this game that need to know where they're going in FIVE days! And, yes, I realize the schools aren't making the decision, but if we can put them in the hot seat, they can put ESPN in the hot seat.

So here's the contact info for both ADs & the Presidents of both booster organizations. If you have any better idea...throw it out there! And to everyone else who'll be watching the game at home. Great. I'll wave to you! But we'd really like your help in knowing where we'll be waving FROM!

My email will start something like: Where the hell am I flying to on Thursday? I need to know. And I need to know TODAY!

There's State Liquors store everywhere in Provo, Salt Lake City. You won't have problem finding them.

Just make sure you get to the ONE in Provo or the ONE in Orem by 7pm on Saturday. Otherwise, you'll either have a very dry weekend or be stuck with 3.2% beer. They're closed on Sundays & holidays.

A few might. All the ones talking about moving the game to PROVO!

Not so fast, the folks from Provo are warming to Shreveport as a family oriented site and ESPN is listening... Independence Bowl - 65,000 seats Superdome - 77,000 + seats Don't think that won't factor into the decision. Oh, and the only reason Shreveport is "family friendly" is because there isn't dick to do there.

BYU played Tulane in the Superdome in Sept 2009 (please don't ask the score), so it's not like they don't know what to expect going to NOLA. Shreveport would be a logistical nightmare for ESPN...

Delta's travel advisory goes thru the 30th, but they let me change my flight destination from H-town to MSY this morning with no problem. I just had to pay the "additional fare". BTW: Coming from Provo (well SLC technically).

Does BYU travel that well? Given the number of hotels in Nola, it hardly seems like they would have trouble supporting both events.

BYU sold 9400 tickets to this game, but I know for a fact some of those were sold to LSU fans (because I bought some). BYU "travels" in the sense that the local mormons come out to see the team play.

At that point moving the LSU game to Dallas may become even harder because that would potentially be 3 games in 5 days

Not possible. Florida-Michigan playing there Saturday.

Friend of mine is Superdome security. He says he got a call asking if he could work Saturday for LSU game. They are trying to see if they can get personnel they need.

YES!! I live in Provo & am literally on the phone with Delta changing my flight from Houston to NOLA!! I figure even if the game is cancelled I can still visit family.

Any other questions?

How many wives do you have?

Are any of them hot?

If yes, can you post pictures?

Asking for a friend.

I AM the WIFE! And this Cajun Lady loves schooling these zoobies (people who go to BYU) about football. I want to beat my head against a wall EVERY year when they start talking about how BYU is going to win the NC again THIS year like they did in 1984!

:banghead:

O.M.F.G. My flight into Houston is Thursday. I don't have an ark. STOP RAINING!! /end rant

I'm very serious. Why would Tiger Stadium or the Superdome be passed up for a halfass stadium in Utah?

Actually, the stadium isn't bad. And the setting is gorgeous. Seats about 60-65k. But NO WAY LSU fans survive in Provo. I live here. Trust me.

Um...no to Provo. I live here. Provo has 2 bars. Unless you count the one at the Marriott, then it's 3. Metered pours. ARCHAIC alcohol laws. We're going to .05 BAC next year!

In more ways than one. I live here. LSU fans would not do well in Provo. Trust me.
VETO! :banghead:

I LIVE in PROVO & am coming to Houston for this game. I've waited 2 1/2 years for this game & it better damn well happen! Besides which...beer here is 3.2% unless you go to the state liquor store which there's only 1 of in Provo & it closes at 7pm on Saturday & is closed on Sundays & holidays.

Any other questions?

FYI: The Texans are supposed to host the Cowboys on Thursday night. BUT the Texans flew straight to Dallas from NOLA.

Houston's going to have to decide in the next 24-48 hours if they're open for business next weekend or not. And if NOT, I'm gonna be one PISSED off coon arse since I live in Pro-veaux, fly into Houston on Thursday & have been waiting for this game for 2 1/2 years!!

:geauxtigers:
this is why I like this board! And I don't think of it as eating our own....I like to think of it as toughening up the weak so when they have to deal with a gump or a REAL enemy, they may actually be able to hold their own!

And, as someone who isn't able to post very much, I'm usually one being eaten...I can take it. I know it's a refiner's fire!
:geauxtigers:
Can't wait to go back to see my Tigers beat up UW again in the NEW stadium...but it is a beautiful setting and the city treated the LSU fans very well in 2009. There wasn't a lot of recognition of a college football game being played that weekend other than the 20,000 LSU fans in town, and the strange looks we got from the fenced-off "tail-gating party" on the UW campus (open-container law required a fence). But it was a great trip, and I think UW and Sark are a class-act. Fatten up that Tiger Bait!!
:geauxtigers:
Catch it, yes. Interfere with a player who can still make a play, no. And yes, LSU are the smartest fans in baseball!
