i look at that move as sort of a preemptive strike by gordy rush and staff .. he was certainly considering a second local show all along .. but i think he moved the timetable up a bit on that decision to keep all of those guys from bugging the shite out of him for a job .. it sucks to lose SVP .. but charlie is excellent on the air and will do a great show ...

that is a fairly well written piece there .. a little overly slanted to matt moscona .. but still well written ... and no .. there was no cross promotion at all .. i always thought WJBO should have done what WWL has done for years and do a high-profile sports talk show during afternoon drive time .. then, off of that show, promote your 24-hour sports talk sister station .. but you never got that .. but you also have to lay the blame in the laps of the hosts themselves too .. you rarely, if ever heard them promote each other .. here was condon, a SALARIED employee of the station and it's BIGGEST overhead expense, that would never mention the other shows on the station that stroked him a paycheck .. that made no sense at all to me ... those guys should have jumped back and forth on each other's shows .. ott should have been covering the weekly miles press luncheon and then had a nice call in segment on songy's show with clips rather than songy just not doing his show and going to it himself .. that was always dumb ... in the end, i just think you had four separate agendas on the air that didn't care enough about the bricks and mortar they all had to live in and share ..

absolutely .. he and songy could have sold a couple of nice sponsors for the weekly segment and split the money .. that wouldn't be for free .. and even if you didn't do that .. why would someone look at that as doing this "for free" ?? it is promoting your own station, giving it a major presence at LSU press conferences .. giving it a major market feel on the air .. this would have only helped those guys .. so how is bettering your station and bettering your show doing something for free again .. exactly ??

I am unable to pick up the ESPN signal worth a crap inside my home in the 1/10 Bluebonnet area.
That alone virtually guarantees I go out and get satellite radio.
Although, I love Hanagriff's take on things so I'd listen to him.

supposedly thursday, according to another thread .. and i don't think that station even has a website .. i don't know why one of them doesn't just approach KLSU (the campus station) and offer some internships for producers and ops .. take your airtime and donate it to the university .. the mass comm school would bite on that ..
