Paul Johnson really isn't one to hop from school-to-school. He's more of a builder who gets things going, relatively well, and then moves on. He's got a few more years at Tech.

Only realistic names on that list are Paul Johnson and Pat Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald is not leaving. I will put $1000 bet on it right now with no hesitation.

I have a problem with that article:

APR: 976; grad rate: 65%; African-Am. grad rate: 63%.

Is there a need to break out the African American grad rate?

Bobby Petrino: name starts with a P and the focus could switch from little pricks in the shower to big pricks on the sideline

#1 reason that Dan Mullen has withdrawn any interest in this job

Apparently someone didn't read the article. Here let me help you out.

Coaching Search Committee's Rejects:

Dan Mullen, Mississippi State – Job hopper (six schools in 14 years), lacks a strong academic background and has an average 20-17 performance on the field at MSU. No wonder Miss. State is extending his contract.

It's hard to understand how Richt continues to have a "good boy" reputation with all the thugs he has recruited and signed through the years.

Seriously? I keep reading about all the "thugs" at UGA. The most consistent problem with UGA football players was issues around alcohol in a college town where the social life revolves around alcohol use.

Mark Richt has a "good boy" reputation because he runs a transparent and clean program - what you see is what you get. There is none of the "lets call Coach Richt first" when the guys got arrested; arrest records didn't disappear a few hours after arrest nor have charges been dropped to clear a way for a star athlete to return to the field. Coach Richt has been adamant about players facing the consequences of their actions.

Don't believe me? Ask that "thug" quarterback you guys signed last spring.

How many Ga players have been arrested or kicked off the team under clean boy Richt? 15? 20?

I imagine his number one reason is that he knows there is no way in hell he ends up with the job.

No way in hell would Mike Munchak leave

That's crazy, Munchak has been with Titans/Oilers since 1982. He just becomes the head coach and they think he would leave.

He is not going to get a better gig than that. No team that really expects to be #1 will run that offense. And that offense is Paul Johnson.

Is there a chance Bob Stoops might be a candidate? I know he just had a house built in Norman, but things have not been going well lately, including a few highly recruited players cancelling visits. Apologies: looked for link--couldn't find it--but it was in Daily Oklahoman) the last few days.

I'd hate to see Richt leave GA, but if he goes anywhere I think he would be the one guy who could restore respectability to Penn State...he'd be worth whatever they have to pay him.

And how many of those same players would have remained on the team at other schools?

Also it's not like we're going to the secret neighborhoods where all the bad kids are. We're getting the exact same kids that schools all over the country offer as well. It's not like they only drink or smoke or drive without a license because they are at UGA, they'd do all those things anywhere they went to school. Only they wouldn't get punished for it there like they do here.
