I'm indifferent on pom poms as long as they're gold.
I really hate the purple/gold shakers, though. if they're going to put them on the seats, at least make them the bright gold that shows up well in pictures/TV.

I've worn the same shirt to every game so far this year. And I will wear it again. It aint gold.

Other teams' fans wear solid colors. It promotes solidarity and team spirit and blah blah, and it "looks good on television" for whatever that's worth.
LSU's fans wear purple, gold/yellow, white, and grey (and other colors too, but those are the main ones). When the crowd really gets going, it looks like sheer chaos (more so than when everyone is wearing a single color). Combined with the noise, it enhances the atmosphere of the game. Their kids feel the pressure, our kids feel the energy and feed off of it.
So wear whatever color you want to wear, people. Just don't wear red.

Except when they give them out at games like the SEC championship. In 2007 they gave out yellow towels, I'm cool with that. Still have mine from the game.

For something like this to work you should have started before the first game of the season. I would imagine most LSU fans purchase at least one LSU shirt each year so as long as it is known that 2012 is a Gold year and everyone should wear Gold to every home game, it might would work. Granted you would still have the rebels that just want to buck the system or be different, but you wouldn't have those people who have lucky shirts of a different color.

Mr. JPLSU, I don't look good in gold. As in I look VERY SICKLY in gold. Can I please wear my purple shirt and bring gold pom poms/shakers? It's ok ... I'm the child bearing sex!
