NO, We are at a disadvantage. It is harder to beat a team a second time, also they have everything to win, nothing to lose, if they were to win we would be 1-1 with them, yet they would have the Title. It is not a smart move.

Yes, but we are at home in the Superdome! So that's our advantage!!!

I don't care as long as we are playing in the game.

No, why should LSu have to beat Alabama twice to win it al and Alabama only has to beat LSU once.
You might argue that it's not fair but we play to a system (BCS) that's in place. We didn't complain when a two loss LSU went to the NC game to win it, so we should not complain now.

Assuming we beat Arkansas

If there is a one loss conference champion, they should play. After that any one loss team from a major conference that hasn't already lost to the #1 team should play. If everyone except Alabama has 2 losses, why not an undefeated Houston? The entire media was all up on BSU's nuts, what makes Houston different. IMO they have as much of a chance as VT or Stanford (none). Alabama may be the #2 team, but they already lost. Alabama losing again proves nothing, and just provides the media to say this is another LSU championship in LA with an asterisk. Alabama winning means that the game on Nov. 5th meant nothing. If every game is supposed to matter, they don't get a second chance. If we start adding rematches in the championship, frick the BCS and have a playoff which will really pick the best two (or at least the two that earned the right to play for it) for the championship.

No, all things equal I do not want to play Alabama twice in the same season. To paraphrase a quoted Alabama player from an article in SI on a then recently played Alabama vs. Tennessee game...the head coaches were Bear Bryant and Doug Dickey. Anyway, he said words to the effect that no, Alabama didn't like playing Tennessee because 'they are too much like us'.

Fast forward to 2011. Those basics still apply but now it's Alabama and LSU. Would you like to play us any more than is absolutely necessary? Nobody really 'wants' to play either of us any more than is necessary. However, it may be an unavoidable task if you want to be the National Champion.

Alabama has come out of the season to this point smelling like a rose. Almost no way are they not in the NCG. For us, and them, we are each others' necessary evil. This assumes we win out against 2 good SEC teams between now and the NCG. As has been said before, they have the easier road to NOLa.

With each 'next game' on our schedule this season, the lore and legend of this this Tiger team has increased. But glory is fleeting and playing a team you've already beaten is always bad medicine. Ask Bobby Bowden about how cool it was to beat the stuffings out of Spurrier's Gators in regular season then play them again a month later for the NC.

So do I want to play Alabama twice this season? No. But they may well be a necessary evil.

If we rematch & Bama wins then we have to have a rubber game. To get to the NC game we have to beat Ark.& Ga. If we do & Bama wins we will be tied!

Short answer...no
longer answer...no frickin' way, they had their shot at home and frick them. Plus we are going to go and beat Georgia as well for the SEC championship so definitely no fricking way.

After the Ok and Oregon loss - I've been hearing all my Bama friends by text and facebook all weekend long saying that they're in for New Orleans with joy!

Have you looked at USA Today this morning - we're #1 and the picture on the front page shows Richardson. That's just wrong.
It's getting annoying!!!

We still need to beat two more ranked teams to secure the trip and we get no love- with that said, I'm tired of us being in the BAMA shadow - We play them again, we beat them - then there will be no excuses.

Nice point and I have been thinking about how I would feel if LSU would have lost to Bama on the Nov 5th in OT and I am pretty sure I would be arguing that we deserve another shot (and I doubt I would be the only LSU fan screaming about us being the 2nd best team at the moment).

That being said part of me says - I hate Bama and hope they dont get another shot and the other part says - Hell yea we will beat em by 2 TD's in the NC and crush thier dreams!!!

That last game was epic. I don't know if I've ever been on the edge of my seat like that on every snap. As much as I'd like to play a cupcake like Stanford, I want the NCG to be another epic battle.

It's just more fun.

A small part of me doesn't want Bama in the national championship game because I only wish the worse for them as a football team (speaking striclty wins/losses).

But the only thing better than beating Alabama once a year is beating them TWICE in the same year...and for all the marbles at that. They don't deserve the priviledge of getting on the battle field with this team again but it's the system we all signed up for. So bring them bitches on! This time, it won't be as close. The Dome will be electric with Purple and Gold freaks everywhere screaming to the top of their lungs while their beloved Tigers arse-rape the Gumps from Tuscaloser.

Nope not at all. Dont want to listen to all the cock slobbing they will get for a month leading up to the game from all the talking heads and dont want to see their arrogant fanbase have the joy of playing for the NC and Saban making his 3rd trip to the NC game.

My biggest issue with a Bama rematch is the fact that we are in the same conference/division and it would be us having to not only beat Arkansas, but we then have to go play Georgia while they sit at home just waiting for the BCS Championship game. Just doesn't seem right. We play the one extra game while they are doing nothing.

However, I think that there would be very little argument that if we run the table all the way to the BCS Championship, and have a season of 14 - 0 that included wins over Oregon, West Virginia on the road, Arkansas #3, Bama on the road at #2 and then Bama again, it would be the most impressive 14 - 0 run in the history of college football. And what would really make it sick is that we have virtually the whole team coming back.

No. I am against anything that lessens the meaning of the regular season.

I want to play Nicholls State. Seriously. We don't have anything to prove at this point. Whoever is the weakest opponent, that's who I want, provided we make it to the BCS title game of course.
