Greg McElroy's take on the game...

Quote on Finebaum.."It's like Coach Saban teaches us. Did they beat us or did we beat ourselves and 99 times out of a hundred we beat ourselves and I think this was true on Sat."
And some people are surprised that some Bama players are running their mouths about them being the better team....I must say I'm thoroughly impressed in our team and the way that many of them have been quite humble and complementary of Bama

that's a standard defense mechanism after a loss.
i don't care what these douches say. they lost. it's over.

Otherwise he sounds pretty intelligent.

I think I must be one of the only people that doesn't see a problem in them saying and thinking this. Shows confidence in themselves. This way they can stay up for the remaining games and if by some chance there's a rematch they will EXPECT to win the game. Had LSU lost I'd be hoping our players would be saying and thinking the same thing. That they are the best team in the country and go out and win the remaining games!

According to him, we are the 1%.

So Saban never loses. He teaches his kids that they beat themselves. Has nothing to do with your coaching decisions right Midget.

According McElroy, they are trained to say this. Big difference between this and selfconfidence.

I would hope they would be saying "we got beat, we have to work harder to make sure it doesn't happen again".
LSU made just as many mistakes as Bama...face mask penalties, Tyrann's penalty, poor throw to Shep for easy touchdown. It's all part of the game...

I like the comment he made concerning a caller's desire for the Bama offensive coordinator to call more play action. McElroy, "we usually don't call play action on an LSU type defense. LSU plays lots of man coverage so their safeties won't bite on the play action".
That answer clearly tells me that Bama has lots of respect for LSU's DBs and their ability to man up. Bama obviously thought it was too risky to throw into the heart of the LSU D on a standard play such as play action. That was probably a good coaching call on their part.
BTW, McElroy seems like a stand up guy and a great ambassador for Alabama, IMO.

The Bama excuses are getting old

9-6 LSU. LSU is 9-0 and 'Bama is 8-1. That is all.

Does the "process" include losing at home to get to the NC?

Not saying he's not, especially impressed with the way he called out over-the-top fans. However, I thought this first comment in the interview was telling. Explains why players like Maize are making the comments they are this week

This is how people react when they feel they didn't do their best. "If only..."
The lesson that they are ignoring is that while LSU was not perfect either... they were better than Alabama. That's the definition of getting "beaten".
Sure... Bama could have played better, but so could have LSU. Its what you do, when you have to do it that counts.

This is EXACTLY why I am not in favor of a rematch...they will not admit we beat them the first time...THEY DO NOT DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE.. this is the way college football is played for everybody else, why make exceptions for Bama...they are no different...to hell with them...and I hope Bosie beats the crap out of them...
