I thought this first comment in the interview was telling. Explains why players like Maize are making the comments they are this week

Yeah, your right about his opening comment. At the time I didn't take it as a back hand comment against LSU I just took as a comment driven out of the pressure they put on themselves (like all high level athletes do) to compete. But the comments by Maze were chicken shite.

LSU made just as many mistakes as Bama...face mask penalties, Tyrann's penalty, poor throw to Shep for easy touchdown. It's all part of the game...

True dat, but we were 3/3 for FGs - amiright?

If they get a rematch and Bama wins, does LSU get a re rematch?

And then if LSU wins does Bama get a re re rematch.

And then if..........................................get the picture?

You got beat,Gumps. Move on.

I think the reason why do many people are talking rematch is because the pundits can't admit that LSU won that game, it wasn't pretty but we weren't expected to go there and win...now they are left with rematch talk because it creates controversy and has the potential to validate their original point. The interesting thing is the argument for the BCS has always been that the regular season IS a playoff, if that's truly the case then there should be no rematch

This is just one more team on the list of teams that LSU didn't beat this year. We've heard the same from Oregon and WVU.

I agree Tiger Chaser. If you are going to make statements that you think you are better than the team that just beat you on the scoreboard, you could at least preface it with, all due respect to LSU, they are a great team, but I think we made to many mistakes that we shouldn't have made. The angle that they are taking just gives more incentive to the Tigers if we do play them in a rematch. If a rematch does happen, I think we too missed opportunities that we will not miss in the rematch and we still beat them.

Like I said yesterday, we as Bama fans sometimes need to cling to our delusions to make sense of things. The better team won the game on the field. Talk is cheap, LSU won the game on the field

It's fairly normal for fanatics (u know fans) of a team to make statements about their team giving it away and the other team not really winning it; espcly after such a close and hard fought battle that was won and lost by field goals. My biggest issue is how many Bama players (and from some of what I have read coaches too) to be so delusional and to make some of the statements we've heard from them without so much as a mention of LSU being a pretty decent team ya know???

As coaches Saban and crew have a responsability to instill in their young men proper respect for their opponents as well as being able to admit to and learn from defeats - and make no mistake about it they were defeated by LSU - not just unlucky!!!!

I agree with everything u said. And let me also preface this by saying Im glad we have coach Saban but I dont think Ive ever heard him stand up and take the blame for a loss. There is always some player that didnt do what he has been taught. Coach Bryant never did that. Every loss was his fault. Ive never heard caoch Miles lay blame for a loss on the players

Greg McElroy's take on the game...

Quote on Finebaum.."It's like Coach Saban teaches us. Did they beat us or did we beat ourselves and 99 times out of a hundred we beat ourselves and I think this was true on Sat."

And some people are surprised that some Bama players are running their mouths about them being the better team....I must say I'm thoroughly impressed in our team and the way that many of them have been quite humble and complementary of Bama

hey greg.........sometimes bama "gets beat"....there is no such thing as beat ur selves......if thats the case lsu beat themselves in every game they lost in the history of football.....bama as a team reacts dif to certain teams......for bama, we beat u in "the mind" the last two yrs as well as on the field.....thats not beating urselves.......when u beat urselves, that means u scared(er) than the other team is......

ps what dre did with the on that hold... acting was bunk!!!

They lost. Complain and whine all you want. Saban has his players brainwashed just as much as the Bama fans are.

Hope my post didn't come across like I was including you as one of the fans I was refering to - after reading it again it sounded like it but def not meant that way. You seem to be pretty reasonable espcly for a Bama fan HA!!

And like every team (or most anyway) LSU would have plenty of fanatics saying much of the same crap had we lost the game in that fashion (maybe some players too?) But I must say that CLM rarely (but has on a few occasions) blames players for losses - he is pretty good about protecting his guys and taking the blame for poor play after a loss.

I don't know if you know this but Sean Payton does the same thing when the Saints lose. He always blames himself. Generally says he has to do a better job of preparing his players. I prefer that style of coach. It's a better coaching quality IMO.

you just know that even though they take the blame for the loss in public, they are gonna work the players to death the next week in practice

Do these Bama numbnuts actually believe a #1 LSU will have to win a SEC Championship game (while an idle #3 Bama sits at home and doesn't even compete) in order to have the right to play Alabama again for the BCS title?

We're going to be stuck with McElroy on ESPN one day. I am not looking forward to it.
