You dont think you would have called the cops? Also, this dude was 28......when you are 28 you will understand where we are coming from.....I promise!

That didn't sound right. If I had any time to think about it I would do something about it. Just saying my initial reaction would probably be to get the frick out of there and ask someone else what to do. I'm a pussy but I'm at least honest.

"McQueary"? More like "Mc..." Well actually "McQueary" is a pretty fitting name for him.

you need to examine your life son. seriously you are a grown man at 23 whether you want to be or not.

Sandusky isn't offing himself. He has known this was coming for years. He will die in prison, probably of old age. Hopefully, some inmates speed that process up.

sending him to prison would be vacation....he is gay...
The difference is he wanted to be in control. He needs to be in a situation where he has no say so and no control and he takes up the arse. I doubt it would be a vacation.
I just hope he doesn't end it and takes the easy route.

That alone isn't altogether deplorable. I would have told the kid to run out of there while I attempted to cover that shower with Sandusky brain matter
But after calming and getting your advice it should be a no brainer that you need to alert someone who would make sure you never had to lay eyes on sandusky again. Instead it appears that mcqueary aided in the cover up for personal gain

You witness a child being raped.
And your reaction would be to run away, and you're 23?
You need to reevaluate your life.

Yes, I can't imagine not calling the cops. That seems pretty obvious and idk why Mcqueary didn't.

Everybody's calling out Joe Pa b/c a 22-yr old grad student told him about what he saw, and all Joe Pa did was run it up the flagpole. He didn't contact authorities.
However, no one seems to be holding the 22-yr-old grad assistant accountable. He's a fricking voting adult and is getting a pass in the court of public opinion b/c he's not a dinosaur like Joe Pa.
He deserves the same level of blame as JoePa does. We've all been saying that.
He's been a part of this cover up just as JoePa has.

It takes ZERO courage to dial 911.

I have a mixture of reactions. The whole story just makes you feel sick to your stomach and yes IMO the grad assistant should have gone to the police himself and reported the crime.
But as anyone who understands human behavior will tell you moral behavior and judgements are strangely susceptible to manipulation by other people and especially the actions of people around you with the guise of authority. There are a lot of examples that show this but an easy one to point to would be the Stanford prison experiment.
LINK
In failing to act further the grad assistant was morally culpable and did fail to see where his responsibilities lay... but in the presence of major authority figures with the national reputations for honesty and integrity (yes, that is Jo Pa I am referencing) what he did in reporting the issue to them is probably what many people would have done.

Perhaps he deserves even more blame, as he parlayed this incident into a job for himself. He basically exploited this incident, and exploited this child.

For all the tough talk an "honest" statement like this will get, it's probably more healthy since there's some staggering statistics regarding the % of people surveyed that say the "would" report sexual abuse compared to the % that actually do when confronted with it.

He certainly won't be on a vacation.
Child molesters (Chester / Chomos) are the convicts that get singled out for fricked-up treatment by the other convicts.
We'll probably hear about him being beaten to death in a shower, a la Jeffery Dahmer, once he's eventually let out of protective custody.

Oh, I didn't want people to get the impression I wouldn't fricking tell the cops. I just can't guarantee I'd have the nerve to drag that guy off the kid and save the day. I'm not really an internet tough guy or a real life tough guy.

+1. I hope the sick frick doesn't take the easy way out, but it's easy to see why he would.

you are a weak pathetic little person
its really easy to be brave and say what someone else should do in a situation almost none of us will find ourselves in. You have no idea how you'd react if you saw something that terrible.
If anything his dad should have told him to call the cops or at least call Paterno right then and then the cops.
