I know I'm late to the party on this one but I finally got around to watching this last night. Heard some good things on here about the movie and from a few others. Went in not expecting too much though. However, I was still pretty disappointed. It had its moments, but it seemed like each one of those moments was followed by 10-15 minutes of depressing shite happening to the main character. It never got in a good flow as a comedy and seemed to drag on. I'm guessing it got some bonus points in some reviews from some viewers for being a "shock comedy" with a female cast, but overall this movie just did not do it for me.
Rose Byrne is fine though

i just watched it
it did drag at times, but I laughed a good bit.
Being a bridesmaid a ton of times made it more interesting

You pretty much nailed it.
I saw it for the first time last night.
*****SPOILER*****
The only part of the movie that I thought was REALLY funny was in the bridal store. Other than that, I chuckled at many parts of the movie, but that was it.

It was funny but about 30-45 minutes too long. It seemed like a 3 hour movie.

Ha, almost started this thread yesterday. Watched it Tuesday night, and it was awful. Turned it off about 40 minutes in. So awkward and unfunny.

I'm a chick and:
1) The movie was way too long and dragged on. It would've been a lot better of a film if they would've shaved off 20-30 minutes of it.
2) I didn't understand why the movie would go from being funny to the main character being a whiny bitch because her life sucks, didn't want to date the cop guy, etc. Either be a comedy or a drama; not both.
3) I didn't think it was as funny as most women made it out to be. And a lot of it was gross-out humor.
Overall 5 out of 10 rating. So-so movie.

I was pretty excited to see this movie, but absolutely hated it.
The bride-to-be was annoying and too ugly to be a main character, honestly. I just couldn't relate to her due to this. I kept thinking, "Why in the world would they cast her for a bride-to-be? Of all things?"
It went back and forth between comedy and drama, which also sucked.
Good try, though.

I could watch Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig air drum all day long

Thought it was ok. I don't really enjoy comedies where the main character can't get anything right and screws everything up. A la, Meet the Parents.
