What do they have to do to earn 1 and 1s? They have gone undefeated multiple times and have won BCS bowl games, there isn't really much more they can do.

it's about finances/location and not play on the field

they are located way the frick away from most non-pac12 teams

playing in their area (Idaho) has no benefit in recruiting

their stadium sucks

other than 2 years, the system has shown its value. pretty good rate of success

college football is just structured in a way that makes a playoff-based postseason tough to create

sorry the absurdity of the whole thing shows when people have conspiracy theories of the computer programers who are picking the teams to play for the title. Even you can find the silliness in that right?

oh i agree with your observations

teams/conferences game the computers, but that's why they use a handful of them

if ONLY one computer model was used, you'd see teams gaming the frick out of it to get absurd results

I think the overall situation will be better if they ultimately end up with like 6 20 team conferences. Seriously

I'm not defending Boise at all, and don't think they should play for the title. However that same SEC brutality you speak of got absolutely dominated by Boise in week 1, and its looking like Georgia may win their division in the SEC. You can't go giving the SEC a blowjob AND discount what Boise did to Georgia in the same breath.
I'm a huge SEC homer (yea, I know, stopped reading there)...but I completely agree with this, you can't overlook Boise and not consider them beating UGA..I get it, but on the other hand, what good SEC team has lost to Georgia this season, Georgia lost to USC and hasn't played LSU or Bama, on a national level the win over Georgia really doesn't mean much if you look at Georgia objectively

The Saragin also has Boise State at #6 and has Auburn at #11

I wouldnt make that the point you hang your arguement on

that was something i proposed a few years ago and people acted like it could never happen

i do think that with these conferences raiding each other and expanding their numbers, there will be a 3rd division of D1 created with the "BCS" conferences forming that subdivision

BSU (if they don't get in) can win all the middle subdivision national titles they want. D1AA stays the same as it is right now. and the top conferences likely would institute some sort of playoff system

At least you're honest enough to admit that you're an AQ snob for whom schedule strength doesn't matter.
Yeah, AQ is what I meant, not just BCS, sorry. And call it snobby all you want, I'm not trying to hide anything. AQ schools > other BCS schools > FCS schools - it's just a hierarchy. The BCSNC should only be for the top level.

So its the same old tired argument... they should have to prove they can do it on a weekly basis. Then someone is going to say, "Well no one wants to play them". To which another poster, possibly SFP or Lester Earl will respond, "Its because a home and home with Boise will lose you money and is an unnecessary risk." Boise supporters will then declare the BCS is a fraud, to which some of the non-Boise supporters will agree with. Everyone will jerk off about a playoff for a while, until one idiot from either side flames, and its back to the same old tired arguments again.

Yep, never changes.

If Boise wins out, most likely a BCS bowl will be in their future, but not the NCG. They will definitely do better than Hawaii or Cincy. I like what they have done with their program, but definitely need to step it up in conference play to get consideration for the NCG in the current format. Not necessarily their fault. Boise has won some big games in the past.

While I don't agree, I understand the argument that Boise deserves a shot at the national title.

However, for all the hype Boise has gotten in the last 5 years, I've yet to see them win a game which makes me think they're actually a national championship caliber team.

There is no rational argument. There may be one. The rest of the BCS leagues have no team with less then 3 losses.

Would love to see something like this happen. I would also rather see LSU/BAMA play Boise than OSU or Stanford. Hell I would rather see LSU/BAMA rd 2 then OSU or stanford.

I think the boise matchup is much more entertaining.

some retard is working on Sagarin if that's the case. It's obvious their SOS should be one of the worst in the country.
