For how long has the LSU helmet had the gold/yellow hue currently being used?

It seems like it was more gold in the 70's but that might have been how it translated on TV back in the day.
I think purple, gold and white are great color combos...has LSU ever considered making the helmets a tad more gold? would you support such a move or leave as is?

this, and I would NOT support a move to change the hue of the gold. I like that we wear "Old World Gold" and not the typical Notre Dame gold. Just MHO

a photoshopped pic would be awesome if someone could hook that up

I like the idea, but I feel like we would have to change all of the yellow to gold. I don't think the yellow pants with a gold helmet would look good

I prefer a little more gold in the helmets.

I loved the Nike pro combat ones...

Oh Jesus, not a resurrection of the moribund "Old Gold" movement.
The present hue is both aesthetically pleasing and distinctive. We don't need our helmets to be the same color as Notre fricking Dame, Pitt, Tulsa, Army, Navy, Colorado, and a million other teams. Just no. No.

I like the actual gold better (it's more fashionable), but it is associated with UW Huskies.
Purple and gold (yellow) is synonymous with LSU football. I think the only other NCAA team to have purple and gold (yellow) is ECU.

I say leave the colors as is. The yellow looks better with the purple...just saying...
