So had Wing WAITED until he crossed the goal line to "shrug" and hold

his hands out there would have been a penalty on the kickoff but the TD would have been allowed?
Thanks ... honest question. He made to me a "slight" gestur at the 8 yd line and then a bigger gesture after he was in the endzone.
Also, I guess RR never has to worry about a flag for this ... as he never shows any emotion.
I just hope that if this got called on US it gets called for all teams. I swear I almost felt like we were playing Bama. Hope we don't get these refs for that game.

Yes, after he crosses the goal line it becomes a dead ball foul and penalty on kickoff or extra point.

Probably would have been put at the 15.

No, TD still nullified and ball comes to 15.
This is different than excessive celebration.
Thus was taunting or calling unneccesary attention to yourself.

nope. If it happens once the score happens it isn't taken away. At that point he's scored and it is a post-play penalty.

but can't "excessive celebration" call "attention to yourself" technically speaking???
It just seems way too subjective to me and seems totally at the refs discretion. Which is the thing that scares me about going to Bama. Or anywhere. Even TS.

This is the problem. It is entirely subjective. A freaking salute was flagged last season. Pointing to the sky was flagged for Scott's TD at UGA in 2009.
The fact is that they are taking the fun out of the game. It amazes me that TM7 and the DBs are allowed to talk so much shite after plays and not get called for taunting, yet that play is called for it.
Just sad honestly.

Live ball foul comes back from the spot of the foul.
Dead ball foul is enforced after the play.

probably would not have even been called, if that was all he did

doubt it would have been called in the endzone at all, wouldnt have been excessive, but maybe taunting an opposing player if he was looking at him, ref's discretion. Hopefully they do away with next year.

Honestly, if this would have been last year I don't think any penalty would have been called. It's like they are trying to make an example. What I find comical was that it was the ultimate judgement call. Watching the replay, two other officials completely ignored it. The other in the endzone happened to call it. Weak at best but probably good that it happened to make others aware. As bad of a celebration as I've ever seen.

nah, the jake locker one a couple years ago that actually impacted the game was much worse

If this was in a close game, I'm sure Miles would have come unglued. I'd much rather it now than against Bama.
All in all, tho, this was by far the worst called game of the season thus far. If the refs are gonna call an extremely judgemental call against Wing's "taunting " to the entire Fla special team's unit, then the horse collar on Ware should have been called as well.

It is kind of funny though...
We all saw what Wing did. A little shrug as if to say: "Sorry y'all are too far away to stop me from waltzing into the end zone... bitches." Just a little shrug but, because of when he did it, the TD was called back.
But if, for instance, LSU goes up 60-0 against Western Kentucky in a few weeks and the team decides to reenact the entirety of the Superbowl Shuffle in the end zone, they get to keep the TD.
Yeah, that's a proportionate penalty...
