i understand you COULD do it like that, but my argument is more that creating that system would really take away from the tailgating tradition by turning the entire inner campus into business parking passes with people showing up right before the game to park and not actually tailgate. But after this past weekend it looks like they killed all tailgating in that area now anyway so might as well
Like I said, the Florida game will give us a better indication. And if the UK game gets that dreaded 11:30 kickoff I expect the entire turnout to be low. I don't think people will even bother showing up.

Compared to what a season pass cost, $40 a game is cheap.
Compared to what a $40 spot cost, the Hayfield lot is cheap. Compared to driving to the Hayfield lot, staying home is cheap.
That really doesnt get anywhere and isnt really the point. I am just more upset at how much this takes away from the tailgating tradition that is LSU.
While it does weed out some of the littering d-bags, it also got rid of a bunch of my family that could come chill for a couple hours just to be part of the gameday experience. I parked for cheaper at freaing Jerry World, thats all you really need to know about how off these price points are

i'm not saying we need free parking, i'm saying if you set the price point above what people will reasonably pay, you are minimizing profit.
They were getting ZERO REVENUE for all of those spots.
If LSU Parking finds $5 on the ground in 2,000 empty spots, it's more revenue than they were making last year, dumbass. Do you honestly think that LSU gives a shite if half the spots are unoccupied? If 1,000 cars pay $40 a pop, how is that not infinitely better than the ZERO frickING DOLLARS they got last year. (And save the microeconomic supply/demand curves... I understand how that works, I assure you...)
And regarding the "fullness" of spots, I came down Dalyrmple and walked to the north side of the stadium. Parking lots weren't completely full, but not far from it.
This was 5:30ish, by the way.

u know how I know you are poor?
because I think 90 extra bucks a game is hwy robbery and it takes away from the gameday experience instead of adding to it?
Its cool, everyone knows now you got jokes.

There are other posters in this very thread that have little to no issue with paying the $40.
My opinion can't possibly untrue, if I believe it. That's why it's called my opinion.
When you finish off your 18 pack of Natty Lite, dispose of your refuse in the proper receptacle.
Don't park on the live oaks either when you try to cheap out on the $40 parking.

we have done so well avoiding these recently...going to suck. I guess it is overdue though

They'll be reviewing things this week and changes might be made with parking and trash cleanup, but dont hold your breath. They installed a bunch of cameras all over campus this offseason and people were able to see live how things were working out and trouble areas. However, tailgating became farther spread out causing congestion and trash in areas not traditionally serviced by LSU and cleanup workers.

Yet LSU seems determined that only the 92500 people with tickets actually show up.
Why would LSU give a shite about the rest of it?
It's a football game, not "Let's Host A Party For Cliff and Larry and Their Trashy Friends."

I think LSU sees your mom as a drain honestly, and is trying to price her out of coming.
I definitely believe that.
I'm sure the athletic dept, especially led by a guy with no ties to this area, or its culture, could care less about the LSU tailgate tradition. They see tailgating as a burden to the university and it's facilities.

LSU has to pay people to go around looking for parked cars, tickes, people to collect money, and additional tow truck service contracts.

Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds? Not everyone that just goes out there to tailgate is trashy dumb arse. Next time, think before you type.

The NFL has long ago abandoned the fan and rendered them little more than an unappreciated source of revenue. Now it looks as it the officials at LSU have taken the same myopic view of the school's supporters.
The sad truth is that college football is big business now and we better get used to it.
It's a major reason I feel my fandom waning. LSU Football = NFL Farm System. This wasn't quite true in years past.

If LSU was smart they would lower the price to meet demand nsu game should be cheap parking now when uf or bama comes to town 40 might work.

Yep, and have to pay to clean up all their shite after they stumble off towards Walk Ons at 6PM.

Those LSU people were probably on campus last year, just doing something else.

Would pay for itself, would it not?

Cops were not letting people turn right off of Burbank. I was trying to go pick up my tickets and parking passes. This was at 12ish. Parking passes were pointless for that game.
