$40 is well below the "marketing price point". The lots will be full and the party will go on. I can't think of a single person who would not pay 40 bucks to experience LSU.

Well the lots weren't full and it isn't just $40.

The Texas A&M campus is much bigger than LSU and has a lot more parking spots but none of it is free. Season ticket holders only pay $100 per year for parking passes. There is one ground lot on the edge of campus for $10 public parking. There is a giant pubic garage across the street from the stadium for $20 which is fair. $40 is nuts but I am even more surprised there is still free parking at all at LSU. This does not count the six different RV lots on campus. No clue what those guys pay.

THANK YOU! I have been to every away SEC venue except Vandy and have never paid $40 to park. ever.

All these people that keep saying "LSU is just catching up to what all other schools have been doing for years" are wrong. Yes they charge, but no where near $40 for a car and another $50 for a trailer. $20 would be fair and another $20 for a trailer. Even $5 or $10 for Hayfield would be fine with me (def not $20 like planned)

Been to all 12 (well Little Rock). The most I've been charged is $20.

$35 at Jerry World.

People will drop like flies if the program returns to the Hallman or end of the Dinardo era, or if they raise the price to some kind of insane level.....but not before then.
Yes, but the question is, once you drive them all away with insane prices, can you get them to come back at reasonable prices? People who see an empty campus and half empty stadium will wonder why they should pay anything to come and "tailgate" on such an empty campus.

Remember, many of the the crowds stuck around for the Archer/Hallman days because it was tradition AND they weren't being charged for it. So even when the team sucked, the tailgating was still a fun way to spend a fall Saturday. And when the rest of the crowds (and more) came back when the program rebounded, it was still all free and the season ticket fees were a fraction of what they are now (and many seats didn't require any fees at all).

LSU had SIX losing seasons in a row when Dinardo took over, something that would cause massive heart failure to Tiger fans today. Literally.
Nah. Most of those fans would bail and become Bama fans after about 3 losing seasons in a row. They have no clue about being fans, because they have been raised in the era of "customers", taught the attitude that their money "entitles" them to championships, etc., and raised to spend their dollars in exchange for special treatment, favors, access, etc. To that brand of entitled, spoiled brats, the very notion of "loyalty" or "supporting the program even when it's struggling" are as inconceivable as the thought of a genuine "donation".

I wonder how much sales the local stores lost in food and beer sales. My local grocer had plenty of left over LSU cakes and cookies on the shelf on Sunday. I admit I pussed out paid $35 for PPV to Directv. So much for helping the local economy.

Oklahoma - you know, one of the premier football programs in the nation - has a really fair gameday parking situation. Free lots a mile from the stadium and a shuttle bus that only costs $2 to take. Also, non-reserved lots closer to the stadium that are only $15 per vehicle to park. I'd call that extremely fair for both sides.

OKLAHOMA Gameday Parking Rules

eta: Oh, yeah, and trailers are only an additional $15, the same cost as a vehicle, not a 25% upcharge like we're charging.
