Keiland's biggest issue until his sr. yr IMO. then Les and Porter just started hatin' for no reason.

the fact that he's not playin the NFL right now confuses me, Scott is big, powerful runner, and Ridley was good too, but not better than Scott, I think the injury hurt Scott more than I thoght. His style of running is made for the NFL!

Dear Tool,
Has Miles ever done any wrong? Does the JJ arrest make you want to cry?

Unless there is a huge improvement in the OL play this year, none of the RB's plugged in will look like NFL material.
Max, who's the dude in your sig?

i hope this we don't use the same game plan as we would with jefferson. nothing less frightening than an immobile qb trying to run the read option. leave it to miles to keep it intact though.

The NFL Keiland plays in?
yea that one...when you compare draft outcome, salary and number of carries so far in the pre-season, it seems the NFL is much higher on Ridley at the moment. Obviously Les blew this one by sitting Ridley in 09. Hard to say if it was senior-bias, dog house, pet player or bbq...but something must have been up.

Thank God, JJ was the worst option play QB I've ever seen. Sure he made a few yards every now and then, but not often.
Can't remember Lee running it.

quote:Les didn't blow anything, he was getting great production from Scott and a seldom used KW, there was need to play Ridley over those 2. Ridley got his turn in 2010 like he was supposed to. When you are as deep at RB like LSU always is, you wait your turn. Anyways, he got his turn early when both Scott and Williams went down from injuries, the end of season '09 prepared him for 2010, and he made the most of it.
Obviously Les blew this one by sitting Ridley in '09.

He'll have more, b/c now LSU will have more sustained drive. Fewer 3 and outs.
Its amazing how soon everyone forgets how inept the O was with JJ in there.
Lee has much more upside once he has time to get in the groove of a game, which he never had with JJ looming.

ford is a dynamic runner and will get his opportunity at some point. i expect him to do well with it. reports are that he can't take care of what he needs to in the classroom and at practice. he is a gamer though, but when you're fighting for a job you have to be a lot more than that.

We'll still run it when we can formation them to have less numbers than we do to that side. No matter who is at Qb

LSU ran the option with JL multiple times in the past few seasons. I actually think JL runs it better because JJ hardly pitches the darn thing.
THIS!!! - I was going to post this myself, but thought surely someone had already said it.
To JJ the option was just a QB keeper - ever once in a while the lightbulb would turn on and he would toss it out behind the trial back.
But, I sure don't expect much of an option attack from JL - at least when JJ ran it there was a chance of making yardage because he was a tough runner. But it was never run anywhere close to the way a good college option qb out to run it.

i still cant believe Miles pulled Chuck Scott vs Kentucky

I think it'll add to his touches since JJ won't be in there on designed runs to much.
exactly
I think what he meant is, it may affect Ford's number of snaps. If Ford is the preferred back on option plays, then he may miss out on opportunities for touches when those plays are no longer part of the gameplan.

I soured on JL the first year he played - not because of the interceptions - because the one time I remember him running, he voluntarily went down instead of lowering his head and going for the extra yard that would have given us the first down. It was early in the season and I developed an 'anybody but JL' mindset. Then I met 'anybody' and wanted JL back.
