A lot... Had Lobster tails, Scallops and some sort of bacon wrapped shrimp with a jalapeno pepper in the center of it, the dirty rice was quite good, table service was first class and all off the highway north of Atlanta. I liked the mix of Cajun music and NOLA Jazz standards my fellow patrons seemed to be attractive and so was my server. I drank 5 of those Big Easy cocktails as well...not fine dining but definitely an enjoyable night out...

We stop at the one in Beaumont off I-10 every trip back and fro H-Town and BR..

All Papppas family joints are high quality, huge portion, consistent fare..Deaux, Sito, Steak, BBQ, Burger, Seafood, Yia Yia.

If the Pappas Chains came to BR and La, they'd put many a La restaurateur out of biz, on portion and menu depth/selection alone.

everytime i go to houston, associates there feel that they must take me to pd's... it's really pretty good food and decent service, most of the time.. surprisingly enough, the fish entrees are good..

Thus the title of my thread...shocked I was shocked given some of the reviews of the place on here...I admit I wasn't expecting much but I was very surprised, there seemed to be 3 people at or near our table for the whole experience and I felt a bit under dressed having come from the Braves game I was in Polo, khaki shorts and Sperrys...the place was packed but everything seemed to be spot on...waitress thanked me profusely on a 20% gratuity as we were leaving...

Welcome aboard LilSull.

One thing. Don't use "to die for". I ain't dying for Opelousas anything. Just sayin.

Post away.

I've had a few good meals at the Pappas places. Not going out of my way for them but wouldn't pass them up if given the opportunity.

I like these places too. Not much of a seafood person, but I am always down for some Pappasitos.

Pappas joints are legit. Pappasito's has some awesome pulled pork enchiladas.

The only problem with Pappadeaux's is it's over priced. I think it could hold its own in BR against similar places like the Chimes and Parrains.

The Pappas places are like BJ's Brewhouse in my opinion. Terrible service, but I have always had a pretty decent meal there.

We had a family event there one night. Got a private room and all. It was pretty good I think. I mean for what it was, it was good.

i ate at the one in the DFW airport a couple of months ago. i don't know if that is representative of the quality of their other restaurants but I thought it was pretty average. decent but nothing i would go out of my way to eat.

If you lived in BR, you would. Either that or drive to NOLA. They would do just fine with the great mike andersons, acme oysters, and parrains of the world.

If they had a Pappadeaux in BR, I would not go there when I come to visit.
