Found this DVD in my closet today and decided to rewatch. I had forgotten how much I loved this movie. The writer and director took fairly scatterbrained, albeit great, source material and turned it into a workable script and great movie. From the opening credit sequence with the Dolphins singing "So long and thanks for all the fish" to the look of the Vogons this movie was just spot on. The casting was great. Martin Freeman, Zooey Deschanel, Sam Rockwell, and even Mos Def nailed their characters.

While the movie was not a page by page adaptation of the novel I think they did a great job of getting the feel of the books to the big screen. I'm surprised there wasn't a sequel.

All the little details came through, the doors that sigh and the random jump transitions. A great film.

Enjoyed it. Zooey is kind of the girl next door type which I guess is why she seems hot. Martin Freeman was excellent.

I enjoy the movie when I block myself from thinking about the books. It's a complete bastardisation.

Hated the movie. Preferred the old miniseries.

I actually didn't really care for the book or the movie.

I can understand people liking the book but to me it just got to a point where I was wishing they would just get on with it an end it.

I really disliked the movie.

Jmho.

I liked it. I think it grasped the feel of the book. I liked what the book looked like when we go to look at its contents.

I love the books. I thoroughly enjoy this type of humor. I also really liked the movie. I thought it followed the book pretty closely.

I typically don't. I haven't read the books, but I really like this movie.

I had a bartender friend that would make something he CALLED a pan galactic gargle blaster. I just remember Everclear and GoldSchlager...and something else to make it have a citrus flavor. Because it's like getting hit over the head with a lemon wrapped around a gold brick...
