Sounds like some of the players are just as unhappy that the best QB we have isn't going to be playing.

If Mett won't get to play this year because of "golden boy" and next year he might get forced into competing for the job he should be pissed.
Seriously, how did you get this from reading what that original post said?

FYI: not my first post, I had to create a new account
We can only hope, but if Miles is saying it then there must be a glaring comparison. And im good with that.

I listened to Coach Miles last night and am in agreement with the reports of the thread.
Coach seems as relaxed as I have ever seen him, telling stories about family, etc. He really didn't say much about football that we already didn't know. The only thing discussed that was not wishy-washy was that Jefferson is starting in Dallas.
He talked about the defensive backs longer than anything else and failed to mention Mathieu, who seemed outstanding to me last year as a non-redshirt freshman.

It seems very much out of character for miles to comment about him be angry at players.
I would imagine that it takes alot for him to get angry

JJ Is the starter hands down
Wish he would of talked about krags, DT, and runing backs a little more. He is coming to speak at the rotary club at Boudreaux's this Wednesday. I usually get to say a word or two to him when he comes, unfortunately I will be put of town

That is some classic Miles speak in there. Sentences that make little sense but still funny. My favorite is:
quote:
“I don’t call him Freak, because I don’t think that’s what his momma calls him, so I don’t call him that…..but the guy is a freak.”

Typical smoke and mirrors talk from Miles. Love the "Williford could start" talk, LOL. No he won't. The only guy he should replace is Dworaczyk and we all know that guy will not see the bench no matter how mediocre he is.

I'm the one who wrote the original email...that wasn't at all what I was saying. I was trying to say that in his later comments Miles indicated that Mett is not the only player on the team who is dealing with whatever the particular issue is (based on things I've heard/read since it sounds like it has something to do with academics).

He found out that the "open competition" wasn't exactly open.
I don't think that's it. But I do know from looking at the QB drill on Tigerag that Mett footwork needs a lot of work especially on the short quick drop back, it affected his completion successs. He looked lazy or not able. And his roll out passing also expose his feet problems, also affected completion rate.

we know....that guy is just a moron

Exactly. We don't know what issue he was referring to. However, when the quote is "expecting our players to show strength and conviction" the only thing that comes to mind is if Mett is unhappy about not getting to play. If the guy didn't have "strength and conviction" he wouldn't have gone through all he has to make it back to the SEC. Regardless, until Miles confirms all we can do is speculate so I'm having some fun because others in the thread had wondered where the Mett supporters were.

Yes, get back to me when you can type in complete sentences with proper capitalization, spelling, and grammar jackass.

Mettenberger will have 2 years to lead the charge on this team. Not to mention he'll probably at minimum, get mockup duty this year on teams getting crushed.
If he is indeed the better QB, I can see why he'd be pissed. He was the better QB in the spring game even with the mental errors with the playbook...

some people need to cool their jets.
when people with "issues" enter a program, either they weed themselves out, or they join the program. leadership takes care of this, it just takes more time with certain people.
things will be fine.
