To All CFB fans regarding the NCAA

All:
A group of lobbyist, including myself, have begun a consortium to fight the NCAA and its arbitrary handling of matters regarding all institutions and sports affiliated with college athletics.
To update everyone on what has transpired thus far, here is where this stands.
1. An AmLaw 100 legal firm has been engaged and has agreed to represent this group once it has been formally established, and all filings for its status as an entity are completed.
2. An international public relations group has also agreed to handle all media and awareness of this group once formally established.
3. A leading think tank and lobbying group has also agreed to be involved in the handling of legislative matters in regards to the mission of this group.
4. Other research and strategic programs have begun.
5. Engagement of possible persons and groups with interest in the mission of this group has also begun.
One thing that needs to be made clear in this process is that this is not just about the University of Southern California and the sanctions levied on the Trojans. This is about oversight of all athletics under the umbrella of the NCAA.
With that in mind, try to engage and make aware as many people as you can from all universities. Our goal right now is to have people talking about this.
Again this is not just about USC. This is about UCLA, Notre Dame, Texas, LSU, Florida, Penn State, Ohio State, and all institutions of higher learning being policed by a system of mandates where the punishment in many instances does not fit the issues at hand. One of the first goals of this group is also the immediate suspension of the enforcement of all penalties currently being instituted on all sports programs at NCAA member schools.
I will give updates as they become available. If there are any questions, please feel free to ask them of me. I will make a sincere effort to answer them in the best possible way.
Thank you!

Sounds like sour grapes to me. And nothing is going to be done about this in the next 15 years so.

So how were these lobbyists selected?

It's DC. People know people, and thus people talk about things.

Great. Just what everything needs...more lawyers and lobbyists.

And no, I don't support your effort.

A) If you want to play in the NCAA, you have to play by their rules.
B) If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

Good way to alienate people who might have otherwise been on your side. I'm fairly anti-NCAA, but there's no way I'd support a lobbyist group whose first goal is to suspend all penalties. That's ludicrous.

Sounds like a whole lot of B.S. from the start.
Why would all current penalties be done away with?
I think its a good cause but if you have already been proven a cheater, why should your punishment not be enforced?
Now if you want to change things from here on forward then yea great cause. If not, stop being butt-hurt and don't cheat anymore.

This is childish and would only make sense if "the time" wasn't disparate or the "crimes" arbitrarily enforced or the rules disproportionately applied.
Or even better, ex post facto laws/rules like the NCAA created for USC...which in your dopey real world criminal sing-song slogan are illegal.
Why don't you go tell black people in the South who lived through the 60's that if they wanted to eat in a restaurant in Alabama they had to play by their rules.
The University of Southern California and all other universities across this country don't fork over their due process rights because they happen to play sports...just like you don't waive your fourth amendment right to privacy when you buy an airplane ticket...but I guess you suppose that you should.
The NCAA isn't God...they are just a bunch of stuffed shirts like the good folks at Enron - failing miserably in their oversight duties and reform is needed like in any business.
You're wasting your time posting this Trojan Ace; most CFB fans here think in petty terms of program vs. program...and giggle gleefully when the Spanish Inquisition comes calling. They don't want to admit the NCAA has major oversight issues because they've bowed down to this fraud for years.

As a Lobbiest I don't guess you have ever heard of full disclosure? I get the feeling I am not getting all the sides.

wow, talk about a terrible, pathetic, and completely unrelated comparison

quote:I think most would actually agree with this, but to suspend all current sanctions for any school is ludicrous. You can argue that rules aren't enforced equally (I don't agree regarding USC), but the fact remains that schools under sanctions were caught breaking NCAA rules.
