Yeti Ice Chests

Anyone have one of these? Are they worth the $$ you pay? Any other high quality ice chests out there?

They are nice but I couldn't bring myself on spending that much money on an ice chest. To me, I'd rather invest the several hundred dollars into an ice machine.

I have 2 of them
built like a tank
seem to keep ice for much longer than other chests
should last forever
I think that they're way too heavy
all in all I like mine
I hope that this helps a little

I can buy a whole bunch of igloo coolers for the same price and they are easier to lift when full.
They are nice, but too heavy and pricey when you can get 15 or so same size igloos for the same price.

I had one and didn't like it. A bitch to open, bulky, and shitty holding capacity for it's size.
But I think if your offshore fishing or doing something that requires keeping lots of ice for a long time they're worth the money.

yes, they are extremely expensive. If you look at one closely you will see that they are about 3x as thick as a standard igloo from academy so i would imagine they can do a hell of a job holding ice. The tan one with the camo lid is badass, but im pretty sure its reserved for certified OB ballers. Im pretty sure they are non-skid too so they would make a nice platform to stand on when stalking redfish in the marsh

I like the tan ones alot. Really like the 40 quart.

Do they make a version that you could stand on while fishing from your Ki-

They are worth the money if you actually need them
Most people don't need them, however

I have the 45 quart in LSU colors and love it. It's mainly to show off. It does hold ice very well, but as stated above they are very heavy. For typical hunting and fishing, I don't think they are worth the money.
They are made with molded plastic used for kayaks. So they should last a long long time.
Last winter I packed one full of snow in south Dakota to bring home for my kids to play with. We drove 24 hours straight, got home and opened it, and NONE of the snow had melted.

There is a knock of brand but I'm drawing a blank. Maybe cool something.

only when it's full of ice is it stable. i learned that one the hard way
but, as others said, if you a lot of fishing it is definitely worth it.

I can see both side of the coins...I recently did the same thing with a gun case.
I had bought cheap..80-100 gun cases for guns when traveling..and they where always getting beat the hell up and I wasn't able to use them for very long. So I broke down and spent the money on a Pelican case...it cost me a good bit of money but it hasn't missed a beat.
I guess my point is if I would have just bought a quality case to start with I would have come out cheaper in the long run. The ice chest is probably along those same lines...if you use an ice chest a lot and if you add up all the money you have spent over time all of us could have probably purchased 1 or 2 yeti's or other high end chests, instead of buying igloos and colemans every other hunting season or spring time....

I wouldn't spend the money on one but my padnuh with the offshore boat has one and we come back inshore with just as much ice as we left with after a 36 hour trip

I've been told you can stick ice and frozen meat in a yeti and a week later the meat is still frozen. Don't know if it's true though.

I put a bag of ice in a yeti during a blazing hot day on June 26th. I opened the ice chest on 4th of July and the entire bag of ice was still frozen.
But wait, it gets better...
But I had this thought, the bag of ice was only $2.00 and this Ice chest was $450.

Just an FYI for price points:
15 qt "roadie" $160
45 qt $300
Pretty effin ridiculous but doesn't mean I don't want it (along with that 33 Freeman I've been eying )
