Can't really tell from the picture but it looks like it might have a arrowhead-shaped head which usually means poisonous... Not sure what it is though.

is the head pointed, I can't tell ? If it is, out of that list, I'd have to guess moccasin, if not, Banded Water snake.. heck, i don't know cause he gonna die anyway...

that's tough because moccasins can be either light or dark... but it looks very similar to a banded water snake as well.

due to head shape, though it's hard to tell, I'm gonna say moccasin.

that's just it.
It is the only pic we have to work off of and the argument over the species has reached a fever pitch.

This is the OB. We are educated in the ways of the outdoors, therefore we already know it's a GDCK. That goes without saying.

Only on the OT do we have to share such facts because they are stupid.

so far there's $100 in the pot and we're just getting started.
I've said all along that it was a moccasin and even posted comparison pics for proof, but some people just can't be wrong.

also note what looks like ridges over the eyes...

That is a characteristic of moccasins.

Banded, see the white on the bottom and close to the mouth? (JMHO)
If it's really important, go to fieldherpforum and they are the experts.
