Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, A-Rod, DiMaggio, Mattingly, Ford...so many greats to choose from. Of all the greats to ever don the pinstripes, which Yankee would you consider to be the the greatest of all time?

Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? A nation turns its lonely eyes to you.

Really?

Well, Ruth is the greatest player ever, so I might need my thinking cap to figger this one out.

Um no. He's not even a top 5 Yankee. Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, Dimaggio and Berra are all well ahead of him.

Holy Cow what a good question. It depends on the criteria. If you're looking for the best numbers its the Babe hands down.

If you're looking for the celebrity/"All-American boy who can still play the game damn good," then the answer becomes Mickey Mantle.
