I love a nice buttery Chardonnay. Give me the names of your favorite bottles.

I had some Chardonnay from Frank Family Vineyards yesterday. I don't usually drink whites, but this was pretty damn good.

Also, If you've seen the movie "Bottleshock" you'll remember they sure make a big deal out of the chardonnay by Chateau Montelena It's described as "buttery" in the movie. Maybe that's another one you should try.

Au Bon Climat, had it at the James Beard House when Scott Varnedoe from Stroube's cooked there last summer. Went to something in NYC a few weeks ago and my wife and I stopped at some little wine bar and the had it by the glass, she loves it.

I knew somebody would eventually come in with a remark like this.

I drink a lot of different wines with some I favor more than others. Also, there are definitely nights (or even days!) when all I want is a nice cool Chardonnay rather than a Cabernet.

I think there are other choices than those Chardonnays and Cabs.

First, I am far from a wine snob.

Second, how is saying that there are more choices than those 2 even close to snobbery?

While some chardonnays may not be to your liking, if you deny the greatness of white Burgundy, you are either lying or an idiot.

Since it is apparently so looked down upon, please, enlighten me as to what I should be drinking. I hate to be such a disappointment.

Winkface, drink what you like. At the end of the day, it is all anyone does. There are two Newton Chardonnay's I've tried recently, one is an unfiltered one, but is pricey. However there is also a more Tuesday night wine version which is made from a blend of grapes from Sonoma and Napa.

It has those qualities in a Chardonnay your original question sought.
