Sweet Beaver color: penetration
If you fish in north LA, Caddo,Bisteneau,RedRiver etc. I'm sure you've thrown this.

As of lately I've been having fun with my SCUM frog and Mini Buzz Bait in the early morning and late evening. The strike is intense as it gets.

But I rarely throw it.

Believe it or not I don't have a favorite bait. I use what ever they are biting at that time of the year. A fluke is probably the highest on the list of my go to baits though, I always have one tied on.

This was the closet to my response. My favorite is something I can count on to catch fish any time of the year. Here in the West we generally have more clear water and deeper impoundments. I will outfish most anyone with a jerkbait. LuckyCraft and Jackall make my favorites.

FWIW, I picked my favorite bait to catch fish on.
If I were to choose my confidence bass bait would be a 6" ribbon tail worm in purple, black, or some combo of the two texas rigged with a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu hook and a 3/8 oz lead bullet weight pegged to the line with a toothpick.
A close second for me would be a Waveworm 5" Tikki Stick in Laminted Smoked Shad rigged texposed on a 1/16th or 1/8th ounce 4/0 Mr. Blitz Peli-Lock Toad Toter hook.
Third would be a 3/8 oz black and yellow double colarado blade H&H spinnerbait with the skirt reversed and the double hook set point up.
For Hybrids and whites it has to be a 4" Storm Wildeye Swim Shad in bunker or shad colors.
