Four pages and no mention of Bradie James or Andrew Whitworth? Not saying they are the best, but they have been pretty damn good. Bradie has led the Cowboys in tackles the last 6 years and Whitworth only have up 1.5 sacks last season!

Best ever gotta be, like others have said, faneca, jones, or Taylor. Super bowl era, many say if jones doesn't have injuries he was hof qb.

Obviously a great player, but he didn't play at LSU. (see the original post)

Moonie Winston played in what...5 Super Bowls. Was just chosen top 50 All Time Greats at Vikings. Next, Johnny Robinson played in 7 Pro Bowl games. Two all time greats! LSU never recognizes them for their excellence.

Y.A., Bert Jones, etc. may be best, but no one mentions the greatest: LINK

Absolutely true. They played on the 58 NC team and both truly belong in the HOF.

In the SB era, hard choice, but I'll go with Casanova just because.

Pre-SB, I really like Tittle, but no discussion of greatest is complete without Steve Van Buren. Worth your while to find out more about his great career.

If o-linemen are in consideration, then Eric Andolseck is at the top of the list of best NFL player to come out of LSU.

Detroit was relevant back when when he was blocking for Barry Sanders.

Billy's son Billy Cannon, Jr. played linebacker for Texas A&M and was selected in the first round of the NFL draft in 1984, by the Dallas Cowboys

Jim Taylor of Green Bay to me was the best, but speaking of offensive linemen, in addition to Andolsek, Alan Faneca & Kevin Mawae also had solid NFL careers.

Out of Broadmoor High as I recall. Seem to remember his career being cut short by a spinal injury. aTm had a habit of yanking some of the very best out of La back then. Johnny Hector decommitted from LSU and went to the Aggies where he teamed up with Cannon Jr. That would be equivalent today to Freak and Hilliard both attending the same school oos rather than LSU.

Correct. Graduated in 1980. Was the McDonald's High School All American Defensive captain that year.

Played football, baseball, and basketball and ran track at Broadmoor.

Also correct.
