The best BCS bowl venue?/Superdome gets makeover

As the superdome gets a $85 million makeover I was just curious on what was the thoughts on the best venue for a BCS bowl/championship game? I have only been to the Superdome to watch LSU in the Sugar and BCS championship. Just curious on how it compares to the Orange, Rose, and Fiesta for those that may have experienced those other venues. Rank em if you like.

1. Rose
2. Fiesta
3. Sugar
4. Orange
I'd put several stadiums above the Fiesta or Sugar, honestly, but the Rose is one of a kind.

The Rose Bowl is getting a big makeover in the next year as well.

Rose Bowl just broke ground on like a $185 million dollar renovation. Edit: It's $152 million
But I'd say Rose and maybe Fiesta (since its nice and new) are the best venues.

Interesting. I've heard that place is desperately in need of the make-over.

Rose is the best BCS venue and it's not even close and never will be.

The Jerry Dome is the best. Cotton Bowl is the best BCS Bowl.

Can't believe people are pimping the rose bowl so hard. That place is a shite hole, and in desperate need of renovations.

The Fiesta and the Orange are probably the best since they are newest and most up-to-date.

I was thinking the same thing. Wide bowl, so seats up top are farrrrr away from the action

If you are just speaking of facilities, the Fiesta
If you add in intangibles like tradition, history, goosebumps etc, then the Rose
If you add in other factors like the city leading up to the game for the fans... Sugar is right up there or maybe the best.
New Orleans provides unmatched entertainment value for the fans during all time not spent in the stadium.

the rose bowl doesnt seem all that impressive other than the fact that it's the oldest and ESPN pimps the ever living frick out of it

Every been to southern california? It's pretty freakin entertaining and unique. And to the poster who said some of the rose bowl seats are far away, I'm sure you've been to the superdome...

I have close family that live in Palm Springs and LA, so yes quite a bit.
I'm not talking about extended stays, but for a 3-4 day weekend for a huge game, NO is where I would prefer. I would be doing nothing else besides drinking and eating. On the food we clearly win, and considering the drinking is right in the vicinity with the food and the dome...
I wasn't really bashing SoCal, but for a football game, the quarter and NO is right up there.

The only thing the rose bowl has over the others is nostalgia.
There aren't enough bathrooms. There aren't enough entrances to seating. The seats are incredibly uncomfortable and cramped.
Los Angeles area a nice place to visit?? Meh...... I'd take NO or Miami over LA in a heartbeat.

The new configuration will allow the addition of 3,500 new seats on the ground level and construction of a new "club area," with 4,500 large leather seats with cup-holders -- including a private club for the use of those ticketholders.
