The Rose, Fiesta, and Sugar are all great venues.

The Orange is awful.

If you want to go purely by the "best venue", I don't see how it's not the Fiesta Bowl. Maybe if you docked points for the loose turf.

Yea, the Fiesta bowl is the best. People just like the Rose because of the mystique and history it brings, which is fine.

If you go by overall venue it would be the Superdome, I don't see any of the others hosting a BCS Championship game & Final Four. In the same year no less.

In terms of the quality of the stadium, it's easily the Fiesta Bowl. If the Cotton Bowl ever becomes a BCS Bowl, then it will take the title. Say what you will about the Cowboys and Jerry Jones, but you can not deny that is one of, if not the very best football stadium in the country.

They're voting Rose Bowl #1 based on tradition, not stadium or venue.

Outdoors > Indoors, plain and simple. The Rose will probably always be better than the Sugar for that reason alone.

:ETA:
I would like to add that NO adds a lot of points to the Sugar Bowls resume.

There is no better city for a big time football game than New Orleans. While the Superdome might not be as nice as other facilities, I love how loud it gets and the enthusiasm that comes with it. Plus the fact that the days leading up to the game and the night after the game, everone is within a few miles of each other makes it great.

well yeah a big ten fan would say that... do you want weather to be a factor for your postseason/bowl game? domes have it even for both teams, plus they're louder
