Does anybody else actually know that the radio station said this??

It could be just made up...or the radio station could have just been speculating and his brother misunderstood.

Guys look. I'm not even saying it's true. I'm just passing along what the guys on the radio said. This day and age reporters don't live up to their name. They report rumors and innuendo instead of facts, so this could be just that. A rumor. I am not a reporter. I am just a lowly message board poster looking for answers just like you.I did askmy bro was he sure and he said he had never heard of the guy so how could I make it up.

Can you find out which ESPN affiliate exactly?

Is it 99.9 The Fan?

Because it is a big gamble we don't need. We don't even know if he has ever really had the duties under Cutcliffe. We all know what type of offensive mind he is. This guy could be there to sort his playbook...

Hell, if we hire this guy, I'd rather go with Billy G and get a QB coach.

And his play calling duties? Just because he has been under Cutcliffe so long, doesn't mean he can be a OC in the SEC. Having Cutcliffe's playbook and executing it is two totally different things. He isn't worth the risk, IMO. They have better candidates out there right now.

We're a OC away from being a NC team right now.

Well, if that is the case and it's what he did at Duke...then there is a good chance he is coming here to sort Miles' playbook and that's all.

LSU >>>>> Duke
SEC >>>>> ACC

You have to take the job if offered. He either looks like a genius because LSU's offense improves, even though Miles is calling the plays. Or the Miles' offense struggles and the guy gets canned, and is still able to land a OC job at another school that is better than Duke. Win-win for Roper if this is the case.

I think it's hard to evaluate a coaches true worth by record alone..

Duke! Has a pretty good offense if I recall correctly...but Duke isn't very good as a team.

Does that make the OC not so great?

We just have to trust Miles on this one..

I have. Feeling that miles talked to the guy and knows if he called plays or not.

Like he thought Malveto would be great DC minds? The dude is human and makes mistakes. I'm just saying this is a risk. Why take that risk when they have better candidates available?

Duke's total offensive rankings w/ Roper:
2008 - 102
2009 - 68
2010 - 59

improving, but not super impresive

Better than LSU's...

He wouldn't be my first choice though.

At Duke, Roper directed two-time All-ACC quarterback Thaddeus Lewis, who finished his career as the school’s all-time leader in pass attempts (1,510), pass completions (877), passing yards (10,065) and passing touchdowns (67). One of just two players in ACC history to throw for more than 10,000 yards in a career, Lewis enjoyed one of the finest seasons by a quarterback in Duke history in 2009 by leading the ACC in total offense while throwing for 3,330 yards and 20 touchdowns against just eight interceptions.

68th and 59th at Duke is a great job.I don't know anything about this coach but i know that Duke is towards the bottom of all BCS schools in talent so those rankings are impressive.lok at our talent and where we were ranked. All about sustem and putting players in position to be successful. The only question is did he or Cutliffe call plays.
