muschamp was dc at lsu for a short period a few years under saban and learned allot but he is the exception. dont you think if cucliff is calling the plays that this is a questionable hire?

It's questionable because of name recognition. It wouldn't be a bad hire at all.

How do you know he's calling the plays? You don't know that.

No. He doesn't. But this the Rant.

Knowing something is not actually a pre-requisite for making a knowledge-claim.

Bizarre, I know.

You don't think Roper can revolutionize our offense?

The only thing with Roper is I wonder if it was him or Cutcliffe. Just like with Kragthorpe, was it him or Malzahn? Just have to trust that Les/Alleva will make the best choice.

His numbers look good, but I just have to be skeptical because he's coming from Duke. Alleva imposing his will huh?

Not searching, but Did Alleva hire ctucliffe? If so then im sure he also has a relationship with Roper. Not saying that it's up to him, but the hiring of cutcliffe would have been.

since Miles never hires assistants according to who is bff with his current assistants. This guy worked with Chief.

The last Don and Joe Rob got hired for their connections to assts etc.

But of everything that has been mentioned in 200+ threads about OC's this makes the most sense.

CLM: Now that Gary is gone who we gonna get?
Chief: I worked with this guy once he was pretty damn good at developing QB's and had some really awesome tutelage while at UT.
Straw: Lets ask the Oracle (Rant), they always know whats up before we do

Roper wouldn't be bad. He was the quarterbacks coach at Ole Miss when Cutcliffe was there, so he coached Eli Manning. But I think he has a bit of an ego. Miles better make sure they are on the same page and that they get along before this hire is made.

If you think Cutcliffe is a good OC, then you have to think Roper is a very good offensive mind or they would not have stuck together all these years.
