Oregon is a 2 loss team and WVU lost to UL...I wouldn't hang my hat on these wins
can you name a tougher undefeated ooc schedule?
regardless, it's far better than a 5-loss a&m being your best win.
and the point still holds, having a tough ooc schedule is irrelevant in millen's/herbstreit's minds, which is bs.

OU losing to K State in 2003 really fricked them up, huh?
mainly due to the computers. since that time, the formula has been changed to take away this power.
would a few weeks prior beating bama on the road be considered "lately?" has lsu fallen apart that quickly since then?
why not play an easier out-of-conference schedule like arkansas' if millen is correct?

espn's millen and herbstreit are basically saying lsu's far tougher out-of-conference schedule is irrelevant if we end up losing to arkansas.
more specific, beating oregon in dallas and w.va on the road means nothing to pollsters (not computers) when compared to arkansas only/barely beating a&m.
what a bunch of bs.

Apparently he's never been on the Rant.
also didn't go to the games when jefferson was booed. what a bunch of spoiled, drunken brats.

Glenn Guilbeau: Shepard playing or not playing had nothing to do with the outcome of a single game last season.
probably a lot of jefferson's big runs (e.g., 70-yd td run the first play of the ol miss game) had a lot to do with the opposition worrying about shepard getting outside. if opponents saw shepard's long td run against auburn the prior year, i'm sure it has an effect whenever he's in motion.

the article mentions $10,000 going to lyle's elite scouting service. lsu's reply was they deal with a dozen services. does anybody know if $10K to elite is an unusually high number?

Actually I am describing Coach Manierri's start at LSU. Sometimes to rebuild a little time may be needed.
given the enormous difference in lsu fan support for baseball vs. basketball (i.e., best in the country vs. pathetic), it will probably take more time to turn around the basketball program.

if johnson was this guy, surely he would have shown flashes this year on a miami team that wasn't as good as lsu.
he had 9 carries for a 13 YPC average
Ware couldnt have had more than 20-25 carries i would think
10 receptions in limited action for ware, as well. very good hands.
not that it doesn't count, but johnson's stats were pumped significantly by a 70-yard run against s.florida.
At Duke, Roper directed two-time All-ACC quarterback Thaddeus Lewis, who finished his career as the school’s all-time leader in pass attempts (1,510), pass completions (877), passing yards (10,065) and passing touchdowns (67). One of just two players in ACC history to throw for more than 10,000 yards in a career, Lewis enjoyed one of the finest seasons by a quarterback in Duke history in 2009 by leading the ACC in total offense while throwing for 3,330 yards and 20 touchdowns against just eight interceptions.

Why would he be done? If he were to have his scholly revoked then what does that say about giving Zach Mettenberger a chance?
:dunno: Double standard is what it would be.
sex with a 14 year old makes a HUGE difference.
better conference, more respectable losses, tougher schedule (i assume given the tougher conference, w.va and n.c.) and 41-24 win vs. 33-19 loss to the only common team on the schedule.
what are the odds big game bob and oklahoma
Posted by fidebo69 on 1/8/11 at 1:43 pm
end up ranked ahead of lsu, despite losing to a&m 33-19, as well as falling to mizzou, who lost to a 7-5 iowa?
i.e., are pollsters that lazy and ignorant to keep currently ranked #7 ok ahead of #11 lsu?

LSU in no more guilty than many other SEC schools, BUT YOU'RE STILL GUILTY!
"far less guilty, yet still the focus of the oversigning piece" would be a better way to describe it. i'm fine with the sec catching crap on this, but for saban and bama to not be mentioned at all is ridiculous.
yes, miles screwed up by assuming there's no way all 27 would be academically qualified, thus he should have stated up-front there's a greyshirt possibility. would recruits walk is the question.
regarding garrett, i find it hard to believe the coaching staff didn't communicate with him he had to change his ways, or else...(doesn't seem consistent with all we've heard about the program miles runs). if they didn't warn him, then i agree with you - he is guilty. if warnings were made and garrett still slacked, overate, kept a poor attitude, etc., then showing him the door is aok with me.
taking care of someone also includes being tough when they refuse to change their wrongful ways.

does that include uab and ulm?

1 year lulls really. And Bama had a decent year. FL was breaking in a new QB, which always gives you a pass
Should that not give Les a pass for 2008 (you keep referring to the last 3 years)? And really 2009, we had 1 bonehead loss to OM. other than that we lost to Bama and Fla, the 2 best teams in the country. Maybe the last 2 years was a lull for us? This year we have 2 loses to the #2 and #8 teams on the road.
you left out a key part of his argument, particularly:
"FL was breaking in a new QB, which always gives you a pass."
we were effectively breaking in a 3rd string qb in 2008. shouldn't that give les a pass?
also tough to argue we weren't breaking in a new (19 year old) qb in 2009, "which always gives you a pass."

a great coach would have his team in position to crush inferior teams ...
very few will argue that saban isn't a great coach, yet he lost to far inferior teams (uab and ulm). can't recall debacles as bad as these two under miles tenure at lsu.

If I'm correct TCU only has one game left, New Mexico, and I don't see them losing that one. At a minimum, TCU will be undefeated. It's possible that AU, Oregon and BSU could still lose. Even if that does happen and assuming LSU wins out, we're still going to be looking at a probable one loss Big 10 champ (Wisc, OSU or Mich. St) and a possible one loss Big 12 champ (Nebraska). There's no way the voters would put a LSU team that didn't even win it's division in the BCSNCG over other one loss conference champs.
lsu's only loss; on the road by 7 to auburn.
nebr loses to a 6-loss texas team
ok st loses to nebraska
mi state loses by 31 to iowa.
wi lost to mi st
oh st lost to wi
sec 4 championships in a row.
quote:
You dont know that homie, thats pure speculation. It COULD happen. Im not saying likely but.......
auburn and oregon losing are more likely than 28-point favorite w. virginia losing in 2007. throw in us winning out and all of this happening is tough to see.
i'm interested in seeing what the pollsters will do if this occurs. boise vs. tcu? - ridiculous.
