Ok - Got some more details...
The pictures were taken in October of 2009. Roger - you were right about it not being Alaska. Turns out they were taken during the time he was living in Alaska. The pictures were snapped in Ontario while on a fishing trip.

I am hoping to go to Alaska this summer. Seeing something like this would be beyond awesome.

Those things are huge. Never seen one alive but have stood next to a full body mount boone & crocket and that thing was huge. 7' to the shoulder and probably close to 11' to the top of the antlers. They are just massive animals and would easily tower over most vehicles.

I;ve seen them in Yellowstone, it was a cow unfortunately but they are amazing animals!
I'd like to see one of them walk on a floaton marsh

Just a few more pics I found that give a sense of size. These things are just plain huge

It's reasonable that it's not photoshopped. That isn't a full sized road. 7 foot at the shoulders, looks about right.
If you are right on the road I agree. I originally thought that was a real road which would make that thing obscenely huge, leading to my photoshop comment. I do know those bastards get big.

troubl, I know you have WAY more knowledge than me about shopped photos but dang that looks like it was. What is the moose stepping over in the road, a starting line? Why does that object that looks like a bad rendition of a tree obscure the touch down of the hooves?
Moose get big but dad gum that one would have to be HUGE as in 10ft at the shoulder.
Very hard to beieve.

Males are commonly 7-8 feet at the shoulder. 9-10feet is not out of the question for an outlyer.
They are basically a Clydesdale horse with antlers.
(The original photo looks a little fishy to me though. As well as at least one of the following road shots.)

Moose are big critters. Actually hit one with my car once, driving slowly.

Had a female moose tree me for hours. I even went to sleep in the tree...lol. They like to lick the salts off your car in winter. They are more cantankerous than bear IMO.

Moose are absofreakinglutely huge. I went Moose hunting once in Newfoundland. On the second day I saw a guy shoot one near a pond bank, the moose was able to stagger down into the pond and we spent about 6 hours hauling it out of there just to field dress it. Two days later I shot a moose much smaller in rack size that was just walking down the jeep trail. I had a split second of indecision about the size of the trophy then remembered the work we put in with the one in the pond and decided small road moose >> big pond moose!
