The Food Network show "Restaurant Impossible" is looking for failing restaurants in New Orleans that need a makeover. They are especially interested in finding family restaurants.

Would a restaurant owner actually express interest in this? Seems a little insulting...but then again, perhaps the show is paying for the makeover?

I thought a show like this came and filmed a segment at Zekes sometime last year. I never heard anything else about it after I read they were filming.

What happened to Kitchen Nightmares?

I heard that two restaurants were chosen to be on the show. Oceana Grill in the FQ and Zeke's on Metairie Rd. I know they have already started filming at Zeke's.

Was on this week. I DVRd it and watched it last night.
I love the show, but I always wonder if they will be able to keep if going after Ramsey leaves.

interesting choice. I'm curious to see what an out of town chef does with the place. It has tourist written all over it IMO. Even the "famous petunia breakfast" is mediocre, albeit not a bad a price IMO.

This is news to me...any insight on this? I thought it was his show.

Sorry I was not clear. I meant I always wondered how the restaurants do after he leaves and they are on their own to run it without him yelling at them.

lol...gotcha.
Yeah it's a cookie cutter show. Every episode:
Gordon arrives, belittles everyone, makes some people cry, they disclose how much the restaurant is losing along with family issues and some atrocious findings in storage. Then he brings in his own menu, advertises that he's there so people actually show up, and it's considered a success story. More tears at the end of the show as well.
Enter New Orleans restaurant here.

Well thanks for ruining it for me.

Pretty sure they were at Zeke's last week
One of my facebook friends has some pics of Gordon Ramsey in Old Metairie

Place just strikes me as one of those typical 'it is what it is' neighborhood type joints. I can't imagine what sort of "makeover" one (especially one like Gordon Ramsey) would be looking to give such a place.

No prob. The Simpsons is an animated comedy show that takes place in Springfield. Now you won't have to watch that show either.

From what I understand their food is just terribly underseasoned and the solutions are pretty simple.
