Why aren't Touchdowns worth 4pts?

a Foreign buddy of mine asked me this. if so then all FG's could be worth 3, and going for 2 could be going for 4..double td.
It wouldn't be a huge change, and scoring would be more uniform, and apparently easier to understand/explain to foreigners.
I can't see where this would actually change scores, except if a missed exPoint/conversion. Any other issues?

for clarification, you would still get a kick at the end of a touchdown play. If good, 3 pts awarded

If people can remember that rugby union has a 5 point try with a chance for 2 more and that rugby league has a 4 point try with a chance for 2 more, then they can deal with American Football.

Explain it to him like this:
"frick YOU COMMIE FOREIGNER a-hole GAY"
Hard to not be able to comprehend that.

a touchdown worth 4 and a XP worth 3 still would=7

You'd give the same amount of points for driving down the field for a TD as you would scoring on 1 play from the 2 TD line? Yeah, that makes much more sense.

I really don't see the point. It takes maybe 20 seconds to explain the scoring rules for football.

There's your problem right there.
Ask him why all their crap is 1 point, and why nil nil is fine.

so you guys are saying the NFL should NOT change their scoring system up to make it easier for sloth to explain scoring to his foreign friend? Well y'all are just being unreasonable.

I'm at a total loss how explaining 4 points would be easier than explaining 6.

So he having a hard time understanding there is a difference between an XP and a FG. Wow.

offensive ball carrier crosses opponent's goal line...how many points? 6 most times, 2 sometimes
how many points if ball kicked through goal posts? 3 sometimes, 1 many times
