at the timetag of my post, I was dead on. Collinsworth has changed his tune a bit since then because 3 TD's is hard to argue with.

I didn't like his comments at the end of the game..."Rogers would of had a play. That's where the inexperience catches up with you" or something like that.

Flynn's surprising performance was a key topic in that game and Collinsworth stomped on it pretty good, IMO.

Guess in his opinion, Flynn should have come out and thrown ints, fumbled snaps and given GB no chance from the get go, simply because of his inexperience.

So, next season, when he is commenting on Cam, he will say something like " this kid and his father both have questionable character and he should have been ruled ineligible..."

and a PRICK. Could have gave the kid a better review throughout the night. What as a-hole. He will never be a big time commentator.

I thought he complimented Flynn several times

did you notice he didn't say one word about the 2nd interception late in the game that was "not" because of the defensive penalty.

Horrible pass by Matt....other than that, Matt probably got himself a huge raise or a spot on another roster to start somewhere../Dude is legit!

What exactly goes into your assessment of him as an a-hole and a prick?

This is bullshite. If he was praising Flynn all night you would think he was a great guy. LSU fans want it both ways.

True enough.
I thought CC was actually more fair to Flynn that I've seen him with some others. He correctly pointed out that Flynn's first int. was caused more by the receiver's poor effort than the throw itself. I have no problem with the way he assessed Flynn'e performance. Had it been a former Gator would CC have given him more props? Probably, he's only human. Matt played well in the face of a stout opponent. That's all that matters.

To me, it was in his tone of voice, near the end of the game. His comments then were that Flynn is young and not smart enough to make good plays, especially in that last minute. "Rodgers would have had a play ready" when he was trying to get a play from the sideline, and they were doing the Crowton/Miles Shuffle with the clock running out on fourth down.

I didn't watch the whole game, but in that last couple minutes Collinsworth kept beating that he's-basically-a-rookie drum. "This is the NFL, it doesn't matter if you won a National Championship....."

I'm not trying to be sensitive, but I caught the undertones. I found it "interesting"

I'm sure you start one of these threads for all LSU players who get criticized or only for certain ones who have "heart" and "motor" right?

he's already the co-host on SNF - can't climb much higher in teh profession

And being a prick at times is probably part of the job when you want to entertain

FWIW I thought he was fair overall - and gave credit to Flynn when he played well

Could also be construed as Chris making excuses for Flynn in a way though that is not how I took it. The point is valid that Rodgers is far more experienced and he probably calls a play on the fly in that position.(I'd certainly hope he could do that with his game-experience). Flynn played well and the Pats were just better. CC is no different than most talking heads in his hero-worship of Brady. I heard more of that than I did of him dissing Flynn. McCarthy should have called multiple contingency plays IMO, especially with a young QB in the game and no timeouts left.(sound familiar)

and his incessant digs on Matt Flynn show it. He is complaining about every thing Matt does and discounting every completion. Not that we should expect any difference, but geez

Is this your first time watching Collinsworth on tv? All he does is complain. He hates on everything not named Chris Collinsworth
